🚑 365 DAYS OF PARAMEDIC SCHOOL! 🎉

One year ago today, October 8, 2025, L3219 members Hailey Gribble, Ryan Bergstrom, and Hayley Peterson began their journey through the Bellingham Technical College Paramedic Program, diving into a year of intensive paramedic education starting with Anatomy & Physiology. Fast forward to today, October 8, 2026, and they’ve officially completed 365 days of combined schooling! 💪📚

And what makes today even more special? It’s also Hailey Gribble’s birthday! 🎂🥳 What a way to celebrate another trip around the sun, with a whole year of hard work, dedication, and growth in the books!

But they aren’t quite done yet! These three will return to their home department, Marysville Fire District, to complete the final phase of their education through Capstone, bringing them one step closer to becoming paramedics and serving our community in a whole new capacity. 🚒❤️

And as one chapter closes, another begins! This week, fellow MFD member and L3219 member Matt Holguin, who isn’t pictured, is starting his own paramedic journey through the Bellingham Paramedic Program.

The torch is officially being passed! 🔥

Congratulations to Hailey, Ryan, and Hayley on this incredible milestone, and happy birthday, Hailey! Best of luck as you tackle Capstone and finish strong. And Matt, welcome to the journey! We’re cheering you on every step of the way.

365 days down. The finish line is in sight. The future of MFD EMS is looking bright! 🚑👏

🚒 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT 🚒

Today we’re proud to shine the spotlight on BC Taylor and his family as they celebrate a very special milestone!

BC Taylor and his wife recently had the honor of celebrating their son, Airman Basic Layton Taylor, as he graduated from Basic Military Training in the United States Air Force. 🇺🇸✈️

And Layton’s journey is just getting started. Tomorrow morning, he heads off to the Department of Defense Fire Academy, where he will begin the next chapter of his military career and train to serve as a firefighter.

We couldn’t be prouder of Layton and the commitment he has made to serving others. We also know that behind every service member is a family who supports, sacrifices, and stands beside them every step of the way.

Congratulations, Layton! We’re proud to call you one of our own and can’t wait to see where this journey takes you. 🇺🇸🔥

Congratulations, Airman Basic Taylor! ❤️🤍💙

One of the most special parts of serving your community is getting to live in the same community you serve. ❤️🚒

Today, Firefighter Paramedic Leonard and Acting Captain/Driver Operator Cruz got to step away from the firehouse for a few minutes and walk their daughters into their preschool orientation. 🥹🎒❤️

Moments like these are a pretty special reminder of what it means to work in the fire service. As long as the tones aren’t dropping and our community doesn’t need us, our crews have the opportunity to make time for the people who matter most — even if it’s just a quick walk into school with our kids.

We’re proud to serve the community we call home, and even more grateful for the little moments that allow us to be part of it.

Because sometimes serving your community looks like answering the call… and sometimes it looks like walking your little girl to preschool. ❤️

🚒🍓 Touch-A-Truck Day in Marysville! 🍓🚒

What a great day bringing our community together at the City of Marysville’s Touch-A-Truck event! Kids (and plenty of adults 😉) got the chance to get up close with some of the vehicles and equipment that help keep our community moving and safe.

Our newest Marysville Fire District firefighters as well as the dedicated members of the Fire Marshalls Office were proud to spend the day connecting with the community, sharing a little about what we do, and, of course, making some memories with the next generation of firefighters! ❤️

We were also excited to have the 2026 Marysville Strawberry Festival Royalty join us for the fun! 👑🍓

👑 Queen Monet
👑 Princess Hazel
👑 Princess Katherine
👑 Prince Malachi

From fire trucks to festival royalty, today was a perfect reminder of what makes Marysville such a special community — people coming together, serving one another, and making memories along the way.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello! 🚒❤️🍓

We Remember. We Honor. We Stand Together. 🇺🇸

Today, members of the Marysville Fire District came together to remember September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our country and the fire service.

We remember the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to help others. We remember the thousands of innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless first responders who answered the call that day.

We also remember our own Lieutenant Jeff Thornton, who passed away on September 11 after a courageous battle with cancer. His memory remains an important part of the Marysville Fire District family.

Captain Matthew Campbell reflected on why this remembrance matters and why we continue the tradition:

“Marysville Fire District has held a remembrance every year since 2002 not only to remember the 343 FDNY brothers who were killed in the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers but our own Lt. Jeff Thornton who passed away the same day after a courageous battle with cancer.

As I have stated in the past, we don’t have many traditions within the Marysville Fire District, but this one is ours and we need to keep it going.”

This tradition is ours. And we will keep it going.

Today, we stand together — firefighters, families, friends, and community — to remember those we lost, honor those who served, and ensure that their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸
