A Homefront Heroes quilt was presented to Ross Sherleff on May 26. Ross joined the Army in 1949 at the age of 18. He was first stationed in Texas. After later being stationed in San Francisco he was sent to Korea where he served for eleven months. When asked to describe his overseas experience, Ross said it as very cold and very primitive.

Tuesday evening, May 5, it was time for the reveal of progress that members have made on this year's BOM (Block of the Month): The King's Crown. This beautiful pattern was produced by The BOM Squad: Becky M., Cathryn S. and Becky R. The pattern was introduced at the September 2025 monthly meeting and further instructions were posted monthly on the AIS website.
At Tuesday's meeting we also enjoyed a presentation by a representative from the Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum in La Conner, WA., the host of the 2026 International Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival on September 25 - 27.

What fun at Sew Daze on March 25! Lots of camaraderie and, back by popular demand, a class on the Fat Quarter Feast pattern that was first presented at the last Quilt University earlier this year.
By the end of the day, the class had finished their first block and were able to share their progress, two members had worked on quilts for Homefront Heroes and other attendees had made progress on their individual projects.

On Tuesday, March 17, seven Homefront Hero Quilters showed up to sew, and eleven finished quilts were displayed. Nine of the eleven quilts were made by Barb Stewart. The remaining quilts were made by Hyesook Johnson and Judy Madsen. These beautiful contributions will be given to veterans and first responders in well-deserved recognition of their service to the community.
