FOUND SAFE: Maggie, Belpre, Ohio

Maggie is home. She went missing this morning in the Belpre area and was reunited with her family this evening, about 8 hours later.

Thank you to everyone who shared, commented, and checked their cameras. Your help made a difference. Please stop searching for Maggie, and remove or stop sharing the lost dog flyer and any earlier posts.

When a pet goes missing, a calm response matters. Chasing or calling out to a frightened dog can push her farther away. Quiet, steady measures like food stations, familiar scents, and cameras give a dog the best chance to come back safely.

If your pet goes missing, contact Pet Search Alliance as early as you can. Call 740-206-8831 or scan the QR code on our flyers to make a report.

REUNITED! Laney is home safe!

Laney, the 10 month old Boxer missing from the Cumberland Road area of Parkersburg, is back with her family tonight, just over nine hours after she slipped away this morning.

A neighbor's security camera picked her up this evening. That helped point the way and gave her family hope. It's a perfect example of why we always ask neighbors to check their doorbell and security footage. One clip can make all the difference.

Laney is a brand new rescue who had only been in her new home one night. She is a reminder that newly adopted and rescued dogs are a high flight risk in the first few weeks. They don't know their new home yet and have no reason to return to it. If you just brought a new dog home, keep a secure collar and ID tag on them. Double check doors and gates, and keep them leashed outside until they settle in.

Thank you to everyone who shared, watched their cameras, and kept an eye out. Thank you also to Laney's family for following the plan and not chasing her.

Welcome home, Laney!

We have a winner! Congratulations to Katherine F., who won the Just Paws Halloween basket!

Thank you to everyone who entered, shared and cheered this one on. Together you raised $275 for lost pet recovery here in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and every dollar helps us keep searching when a family’s pet goes missing.

A huge thank you to Jill and Paws and Enjoy Life for donating the basket, the second one she’s given us this year. If you haven’t tried her handmade single ingredient dog and cat treats, her Halloween sale runs through October 31. Check out their page for details.

Trick or treat for lost pets. Last chance to win this Halloween basket!

Our friends at Just Paws and Enjoy Life in Parkersburg donated this $90 basket to Pet Search Alliance, and every entry goes straight to helping families in the Mid-Ohio Valley bring their lost pets home.

Inside: six bags of Just Paws single ingredient treats (chicken jerky, chicken feet, beef liver, beef heart, chicken bites and salmon bites), plus a Halloween decoration set, two dog toys and a trick or treat basket to carry it all.

Entries start at 10 chances for $10. Entries close tomorrow, Saturday, at 6 PM, and the drawing is Sunday at noon. The winner gets it hand delivered locally or shipped.

If you haven't tried Just Paws yet, you should. Jill makes every treat by hand in her Parkersburg kitchen, and each bag holds exactly one ingredient: real meat, freeze dried or dehydrated, with no fillers, no preservatives and nothing you can't pronounce. Dogs and cats both go crazy for them, and picky eaters are some of her biggest fans. She's supported our search work more than once this year, and we're proud to send some love her way.

Links are in the comments: one to enter the raffle, and one to check out Just Paws.

FOUND! Daisy Mae is safe!

Daisy Mae, the 4 year old Black Lab missing from the 2100 block of Hartline Road in Whipple, has been found safe. She turned up this evening locked inside one of the buildings on the farm, about a day and a half after she went missing.

Thank you to everyone who shared, commented, and kept an eye out for her.

This is a good reminder of why we ask neighbors to check their barns, garages, sheds, and outbuildings first. A dog can slip inside while a door is open and get shut in without anyone noticing. Friendly, curious dogs like Daisy Mae are especially likely to wander into an open building. If your pet goes missing, check every building on your property and your neighbors', and check them more than once.

If your pet goes missing, do not chase. Do not call its name over and over. Call the PSA hotline at 740-206-8831.

Ida Mae is home.

Today's case in Marietta, Ohio, ended with a thermal drone search. Pet Search Alliance calls in thermal drone operators when conditions are right, and today we tapped MOV Drone Workz, one of our go-to drone operators in the area and a fast response for Washington County and Wood County. About 10 minutes into the flight, they detected movement behind a neighbor's house just over a quarter mile away. Her family got the coordinates and directions, and they brought her home.

We use calm, evidence based recovery methods: feed stations, humane traps, cellular trail cameras, and thermal drone searches when they fit the case.

Two ways to help:

1. Follow Pet Search Alliance to see lost pet cases in the Mid-Ohio Valley and help us reach more families.
2. Follow MOV Drone Workz, a premier thermal drone operator in the Mid-Ohio Valley for pet recovery, deer recovery, and more. They are close to 10,000 followers, and your follow can help them pass 10,000.

If your pet goes missing, act early, stay calm, and avoid chasing. Call or text 740-206-8831 or report it at www.petsearchalliance.com.

Thank you to Ida Mae's family for trusting us.
