Meet Charlotte. 🐾 She was found abandoned under a porch, desperately trying to protect and feed her nine newborn kittens. She came to us severely emaciated and is still battling tummy issues, yet she never stopped giving everything she had to keep her babies alive. Her nine babies are being fostered by another SCC foster.
Cases like Charlotte’s are a heartbreaking reminder of how pet populations spiral out of control—much like the recent situation with the local "boat cat man," where dozens of unsterilized cats multiplied beyond what one person or community could manage. Without accessible spay and neuter resources, innocent cats pay the price.
At South County Cats, this is why we do what we do. Our mission centers on low-cost spay/neuter services, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and providing loving foster homes to give cats like Charlotte and her kittens a second chance.
Right now, Charlotte is safe, healing, and getting the attention and care she needs. Once fully rehabilitated, she’ll head to a rescue partner to hopefully find the forever home she truly deserves. But with 65+ kittens currently in our foster network, our resources are stretched to the limit—**our wet kitten food supply has completely dwindled**, and our donated stock is almost gone.
