VFW Post 5052 Maple Valley/Black Diamond is honored to share an invitation for local veterans to attend the Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly at Tahoma High School on Tuesday, November 10!

Join the Tahoma community for a catered breakfast and a school assembly recognizing and honoring veterans for their service and sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

On behalf of VFW Post 5052 Maple Valley/Black Diamond and Tahoma National Cemetery, thank you to all the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones who came together to honor Mr. Larry Johnson at his military service.

These final farewells are always emotional, but this one was especially difficult, as Larry served as a commander at our post and conducted the first services at Tahoma National Cemetery. The presence, kindness, and support of so many people meant more than words can express. It was a powerful reminder of the impact Larry had on those around him and the bonds we share through service, friendship, and community.

Thank you for standing alongside us, honoring Larry’s service, and helping us say goodbye with the dignity and respect he deserved. Your support will not be forgotten. ❤️🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Remembering Our Brother, Larry Johnson 🇺🇸

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our very own Larry Johnson, a past Commander of VFW Post 5052 and a respected member of our veteran community.

Larry also served as a Chief with the Maple Valley Fire Department, dedicating his life to serving others both in uniform and in his community.

🇺🇸 VFW Day of Service — Cedar Grange 🇺🇸

Today, our VFW members came together for a Day of Service clean-up at Cedar Grange, helping care for a place that brings our community together. Thank you to everyone who came out and put in the work!

🐟 And the service continues! This October, Cedar Grange will also be a great place to watch the annual salmon run. Salmon viewing will take place on Sundays throughout October, with polarized glasses provided by the Seattle Aquarium to help everyone get a better look.

Come out, enjoy the salmon, and connect with your community!

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced a tragedy that brought Americans together in a way we had rarely seen.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of those who responded and served in the aftermath.

May we never forget the unity and pride we felt as Americans—and may we find a way to preserve that perspective without ever needing another tragedy to remind us.

🇺🇸 Honored to serve alongside some incredible people at the Black Diamond Labor Day Parade!

Today was a great reminder that service comes in many forms.

We had the privilege of participating alongside fellow veterans representing the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force, while also sharing the parade route with Cub Scout Pack 712.

Special thanks to the hard work of Howard Van Erem and his 1943 Ford American LaFrance Pumper fire truck!

Proud to be part of a community that continues to recognize those who serve—and inspires the next generation to get involved and give back.

Your local VFW Post 5052 – Maple Valley/Black Diamond is gearing up for a great lineup of community events, and we’d love for you to come out, say hello, and meet your local veterans!

We’re especially excited to partner with our local Cub Scout Pack 712 for several upcoming events. 🇺🇸

🛠️ We’ll be kicking off a community cleanup and service project.

🐟 Every Sunday in October – Salmon Viewing at the Grange
We’ll be partnering with the Seattle Aquarium to observe the returning salmon in the Cedar River. Polarized viewing glasses will be available, making this a great opportunity to get outside, learn about our local ecosystem, and see the salmon return!
