IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR TODAY’S MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE:

This morning’s Memorial Day Ceremony has been moved inside to the Mantua Township Municipal Courtroom located inside the Police Department’s Administration Building on Main Street. Enter through the main entrance doors to the Mantua Township Police Department near the adjacent side parking lot.

The ceremony will still begin at promptly 10:30 AM.

Jointed Honor Guard proudly celebrate the remarkable milestone of a World War II veteran who recently turned 100 years old. In recognition of his extraordinary service and sacrifice, he was presented with the lost military medals he earned during the war. This moment not only commemorates his courage and dedication but also serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring legacy of those who fought to protect our freedoms.

HQ Roundtable returns one week from today, on December 16, 2025 at 2 p.m. CST.

VFW Auxiliary National Secretary-Treasurer Ann Panteleakos and Director of Administrative Services Cortina Barnes will be joined by National President Lois Callahan for HQ Roundtable on Facebook Live.

The topics of discussion will include the National President's Special Project (Continuing Education scholarship), Callahan's joint project with VFW Commander-in-Chief Carol Whitmore (stocking the VFW National Home store), the upcoming Celebrating America's Freedom Event, the Fall and Spring Legislative Conferences and more, as time allows.

The deadline to submit questions is this Friday, December 12, at 6 p.m. CST. You may email them to [email protected] with the subject line HQ Roundtable Question or ask them here in the comments. It will also be possible to ask questions during the broadcast, but Panteleakos, Barnes and Callahan may not get to all of them.

A Night at the Museum

Join the Mantua Township Historical Commission on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM for a special evening of remembrance and reflection.

This program will feature Kathy MacGregor, a former Mantua Township volunteer EMT who responded on 9/11 to assist injured victims. Together, we honor the memories of those tragically lost 24 years ago.
