Produce is grown harvested and donated to local Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens and Special Needs Homes in the Manhattan Illinois area. GROW fruits and vegetables, the staples of healthy eating…and grow friendships in the process
GIVE produce to Manhattan community neighbors in need and sell excess harvest at a farm stand;
HELP supplement food supplies at local food pantries and
TEACH others how to grow and preserve their own produce that can be enjoyed year round.

Thursday, September 10th from 3pm-5pm.

The Garden lost some crop on the south end of our field, but we can repurpose the area for turnips. So far, the remaining plants are handling the heat OK. We'll see if things change as the week progresses.

Hi folks.
Manhattan Friendship Garden has been hammered by the rains. We have lost some crops due to standing water but, the majority of the field is OK.

One of the unintended consequences of nonstop rain is the ability to get in the field and w**d. We managed to cultivate the field today, but w**ding is needed around the plants to maximize yield. After looking at the weather forecast, we are scheduling a w**ding event For:
Tuesday, June 23rd from 4pm to dusk.

If you know any school students needing community service hours, we can help.

Hope you're enjoying the humidity.

Monday, June 15 from 2pm-5pm will be a Field Day where w**ding and critter maintenance is planned.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Dress for the weather and bring sunblock, insect repellant, water, gloves and sturdy shoes you won't mind getting dirty.
We'll supply the w**ds, bugs and shade to rest in.
