Weather cancellation tonight for the Community Safety Night.

🚓Community Night Cancellation🚒

After carefully monitoring today’s forecast and consulting with the National Weather Service and our local Emergency Management Agencies, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Manhattan Public Safety Community Night.

Based on the recommendation that all outdoor activities be canceled due to the potential for heavy rainfall and flooding, we believe this is the safest decision for our residents, staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners.

We know many families were looking forward to this event, and we share in your disappointment. Our team, along with dozens of community partners and volunteers, has spent months planning an evening of fun, education, and community engagement.

We are exploring the possibility of rescheduling Community Night at a later date. While no official decision has been made, we will share any updates as soon as they become available.

Thank you to all of our vendors, volunteers, first responders, and community partners for your support and commitment to making this event possible. Most importantly, thank you to our residents for your understanding.

Please stay weather aware, stay safe, and we’ll keep you updated if a new date is announced.

After remembering Florence Lynk yesterday, we didn’t want to leave out our town’s another historian and community member, Vera Borden. When I entered Vera’s name in the search bar to bring up the article, instead of one I found about 10… showing her participation in so many different community events, organizations and programs. Please enjoy!
