Manhattan Parks & Recreation Foundation Our mission is to enhance the parks and recreation experience through charitable contributions, time, and resources.

The Manhattan Parks and Recreation Foundation is a nonprofit fund through the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation that was founded by citizens and local businesses to make vital parks and recreation programs and facilities more accessible to everyone. The vision of the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Foundation is to cultivate relationships and build capacity, ensuring access and equity for all.

Through a designated fund, we strive to reduce barriers to participation for disadvantaged and underrepresented individuals, providing critical support that extends beyond what the Parks and Recreation budget alone can meet. Our purpose is to guarantee the long-term financial stability of the City of Manhattan Parks and Recreation department (PRD) by generating gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. By advocating for the PRD's parks, programs, and activities, we aim to secure the long-term success of this vital community service.

Ready, set… Just Tri It! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️

SATURDAY, AUGUST 1st!

The Just Tri It Youth Triathlon is a fun and exciting event for kids ages 5–16 to swim, bike and run their way to the finish line! This 3-event race is a great way for young athletes to build confidence, stay active and experience the excitement of completing a triathlon all on their own.

The best part? The entire race takes place within City Park in Manhattan, Kansas, making it a safe and welcoming introduction to the sport.

As a reminder the official schedule for the day is:
8:00a - Day of Registration and Check-In Opens at the City Park Pool
9:00a-10:00a - Boat Building Begins! (Captains have 1 hour to build their boats!)
10:00a - Boat Line-Up and Races Begin!
-Races will run youngest age groups to oldest age groups.
-The Corporate Challenge will be the final race of the day.
