We are 1 month away from the 2026 Star Spangled Spectacular Cardboard Boat Regatta!
Registration is live at www.mhkparksandrecfoundation.org
Join us on Saturday July 4th at City Park Pool in Manhattan!
Registration and Check-In begins at 8:00a , Boat Building will run 9:00a-10:00a and boat races will start at 10:00a!
Youth Captains (with the help of an adult guardian) will build their boats out of a provided sheet of cardboard and duct tape and then race their masterpieces across City Pool!
Adult Captains will build their cardboard and duct tape boats ahead of time and bring them to City Pool to race!
Youth Divisions 5-14 (Build your Boat the Day-of)
Adult Divisions 14+ (Build your Boat ahead of time and bring it to the pool)
We can't wait to see the innovative boats race to the finish line!

“The process for applying for the scholarship was super easy. I was able to do it at the Discovery Center with the help of the staff. It only took maybe 10 minutes and saved my family so much money.
I made the decision to apply because it was available and I am on a fixed income with two kids as a single disabled mother. I want to be able to allow my kids to do as many fun things as possible while staying in our budget. Using this scholarship was a way for us to have access to another fun activity as a family while staying within our budget.
The scholarship has allowed us to maintain a membership, and that has been extremely beneficial to my daughter especially. She has struggled with going to in-person school and this year we decided to do virtual school. This means that she doesn't have social interactions as much as she used to. Because of this scholarship and our membership, she is able to go every week and has made friends that she meets up with on a weekly basis to play at the Discovery Center. It is an affordable, indoor place that we were able to use all winter long and she absolutely loves all of the different things there are to do at the Discovery Center. It's especially nice that part of it changes every few months and there are new and fun activities.”
