The Current Officers on the Arts Council of Magna are: (Pres) Wes Furgason, (Vice Pres) "Todd Peterson", (Secretary) Tammy Furgason, (Treasurer) Todd Richards. The Arts Council meets every 2nd Thursday at the new fire station. The Arts Council of Magna is Supported by the ZAP Council http://www.zap.slco.org, Utah Devision of Arts and Museums http://artsandmuseums.utah.gov, and The Magna Town Council.

Thank You!

To everyone who helped make the Magna Main Street Arts Festival such a great event this year. (Also those who have helped in the past, since that was instrumental in getting the Festival to the level it reached this week.)

From the organizers & volunteers, to the Artists in the contest and sharing their Chalk Art, 80+Vendors, Musicians who performed, the Writer's corner talent, the City officials who facilitated the preparations -- we THANK you all.

Also noted are all who helped promote the event online in various ways. Bringing attention and bringing friends takes the Festival up a notch.

Finally, Thank You to all who attended. Without a happy crowd enjoying the scene, there would be no festival.

Art Show - quick look

Got a minute to see some sweet art? The number of entries was down a bit this year compared to previous festivals. Probably due to the missing years recently for Construction and the quarantine years, meaning a lot of our past participating artists were no longed at the same contact addresses as before. The Sky is full of ART.

As it usually is when Magna's drone photography master Scott Taylor is watching. He posted about 20 pictures and videos on a different Magna City Facebook group showing the Festival from on high. Check them out on the group called "Magna Township the OG", which does require qualified membership. Here is one small sample.

The Festival is ON today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Any questions you want to ask today may not be noticed by the people who plan the event - they are just too busy on site. Doom scrolling is not on the to-do list today.

Come on down and have fun. There are always several things happening at once throughout the day.

Magna Main Street is the "old town" part of Magna. Get to 2700 South and 8400 West, then GO WEST! Or set your maps to get you to the Magna Library, and you are there.

Final Festival reminder!

The Magna Main Street Arts Festival *IS* on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Most of you already knew that, but Magna has gained a lot of population since the last time the event was held in 2024, so we're introducing it to them as well.

Free to attend. But bring some money to spend 'cuz you'll WANT to when you see what is available in Food, Art, and other fun.

Live Music, half a dozen food & drink options, 80 Vendors in tents on Main Street, Art Show and Contest inside the Library, and...

Two big new features this year are:

1) A Professional Chalk Art display by a dozen artists!
2) An Author's Corner where a dozen published writers show off their books, and each gives a short presentation, or joins a group panel.

We humbly apologize for presenting you so many options. But we know that you, as a lover of Arts & Entertainment, will somehow power through and see your way to having an Artsy day in Magna!

Be a part of local art.

** WARNING ** Today, (Thursday, August 13th), someone posted on this group page claiming to be the person to sell you Vendor Space for this week's Festival in Magna. THAT WAS A LIE. That person has been blocked, but others could post similar lies.

The only real way to get Vendor Space at the Magna Festival is through the group that organizes the Festival - the Arts Council of Magna. If you pay anyone else, you have wasted your money - and you STILL don't have Vendor Space. The scam has hurt Vendors at various events for the last few years, but this is the first time we have noticed it here this year. Watch out!

Photography is an art form with flexible ways to be good, or even great. Photos can be done with a decent cell phone, or improve your results with specialized high-end photo gear. The images you capture might be a matter or luck, or made with serious planning and experience and ex*****on.

If you like the idea of taking photos and sharing the results, then what are you doing for the rest of this week? The fourth annual "Lens of Magna" photo contest is accepting entries in various categories, with entries due Saturday, April 11, 2026. Prizes are available in each category.

Rules are simple, but read them in advance at https://www.lensofmagna.com/

There you'll be able to see samples of past winners to see what is the standard for this opportunity. The most interesting part of the contest is that it really is designed to showcase Magna. All photos submitted must be taken near Magna Main Street, but they can still be as varied as the imaginations and talents of each person who submits photos.

Most photographers can enter by submitting their pix online by the deadline, but those defined as "professional" photographers have additional requirements.
