The Power of Celebration
Sunday, October 18th

This Sunday, our Youth and Family Ministry will explore The Power of Celebration with a special Unbirthday Party! Who says we need a birthday or holiday to celebrate? Through music, games, creative activities, and a little party fun, our children will discover that every day offers something worth celebrating. We'll focus on recognizing personal successes, big and small—from learning something new and overcoming challenges to showing kindness and simply being our amazing selves. We are a unique expression of God, worthy of celebration!

Celebration is a spiritual practice that opens our hearts to gratitude, joy, and the abundance of life. When we celebrate, we shift our attention from what is lacking to the blessings already present. Join us as we explore the transformative power of celebration as we recognize our personal milestones.

Youth and Family Ministry October 11th at 10 AM
All Creatures Great & Small

This Sunday, our children will explore the wonder of creation through the gentle wisdom of St. Francis of Assisi, who is celebrated during the month of October. St. Francis believed that the sun, moon, stars, animals, plants, water, wind, and people all belong to one sacred family—and that God’s presence can be discovered in and through all creation. Our lesson will include a Web of Life activity, opportunities to celebrate beloved pets and animals, and a special Blessing of the Animals. Children may bring a photo of a pet or draw a picture of an animal they love to include in the blessing.

St. Francis loved animals and as part of the 10/11 Sunday service, we will share a special blessing for our pets. You are invited to bring a photograph of a beloved pet or an item that belongs to them—a collar, tag, toy, or other meaningful object—to represent them during the blessing. We will also remember and bless the animals who have shared our lives and are no longer physically with us. A table will be prepared in the front of the sanctuary for your items.

This Sunday, October 11th, we explore the gentle wisdom of St. Francis of Assisi and his profound sense of kinship with all creation. This invites us to recognize the one Spirit expressing through the many forms of life. The same sacred Presence that lives in us is also present in the natural world around us.

Our "Spooky Story" trunk has so many new books this year! Join us Saturday, October 17 from 3-5 PM, and curl up with your favorite person and read some fun spooky stories. We have books for kids aged 0-18. ¡Nuevo este año! Tendremos un baúl de cuentos de Halloween. ¡Habrá libros en español con divertidas historias de Halloween!

This week in Youth and Family Ministry (Sunday, October 4), we’ll explore Growing in Abundance. The children will discover that abundance is about more than having things—it also includes kindness, love, friendship, encouragement, and joy. Through games, conversation, and activities, we’ll practice sharing what we have with others and receiving with gratitude. We'll also make hygiene kits for a local homeless shelter and celebrate the many ways our gifts can help goodness grow.
