Senior Spotlight: Sophia Anzures

Today we are proud to recognize Senior Horizon member Sophia! Sophia has been a valued member of Camp Fire, creating lasting memories, building meaningful friendships, and sharing her many talents with those around her throughout her Camp Fire journey.

Sophia plans to attend Madera Community College and major in Studio Arts. She then plans to transfer to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In addition, Sophia plans to obtain her insurance license and begin her career training to become an insurance agent.

Thank you, Sophia, for your dedication, leadership, and involvement in Camp Fire Heart of California. We are proud of the young leader you have become and are excited to see all the wonderful things you will accomplish in the future.

Favorite Camp Fire Memory:
"My happiest camp memory is hike day from my second year at camp. It was an extremely hot day. The hike was difficult but awesome. We went up to a beautiful waterfall and got to play in the icy cold water. After hike day, we got snow cones—I was never more happy to have a snow cone in my life!"

High School Sparks:
"I attended Sherman Thomas Charter High School, where I served as Student Council President and Senior Representative. I have a strong passion for art and have been creating art from a very young age. I am also very active in my church and currently serve every Wednesday and Sunday on my church worship team."

Favorite Camp Fire Saying:
"Make new friends, but keep the old... one is silver and the other's gold."

Sophia shared that these lyrics are a reminder to always strive to make new friendships while never forgetting the friends you can always depend on. A new friend is a gift, but an old friend is priceless.

Congratulations, Sophia! Your Camp Fire family is cheering you on as you begin this exciting new chapter, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish.
