A few years ago, Steve, Pastor Earl, and I shared a vision. We saw how beautiful this community is, but also how much support it could use in helping those in need. With that vision in mind, we came together and made it happen.

Pastor Earl, originally from Wadley and formerly the Youth Pastor at Victory World Church in Atlanta, we have all come together to bring this vision to life. Our mission is simple: to bridge the gap in our community by serving others in the way God has called us to.

Through Proximity Gap, we’ve been able to provide a variety of resources:

• Dressing Blessings – a clothing ministry I’ve been honored to lead for the past 3 years.

• Bread of Heaven – our food pantry, now a proud partner in this work.

• Family Mentoring & Trainings – supporting households with practical tools and spiritual growth. Grateful for The Guiding Light Worship Center for their partnership with the trainings .

We’re also grateful for Connections Church, the very first church to join this mission with us, playing a major role in moving this project forward.

Our location is at 105 Moore Cir., Lyons, GA (behind Chatters Restaurant and Guacamole Plaza). Our goal is simple: to provide help, hope, and resources for those who need it most and may have nowhere else to turn.

Dressing Blessings Ministry was established in January 2023 and is operated by Erica Phillips. We are a community-based clothing ministry dedicated to serving individuals and families by providing gently used clothing and accessories in good condition.

Our mission is to meet people where they are—whether they need professional attire, casual wear, loungewear, or assistance with job readiness. No matter the need, Dressing Blessings is here to support and uplift our community.

Our ministry operates through three foundational pillars:

1. Faith – We put God at the forefront of all that we do, believing we are called to serve one another and carry out the work of the Lord through compassion and service.

2. Community Generosity – We rely on the kindness and generosity of our community through donations of gently used clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. For those who wish to support but do not have items to donate, monetary contributions are also accepted. All donations directly support the mission and operations of Dressing Blessings Ministry.

3. A Heart for Service – Dressing Blessings exists because of a shared commitment to community and a genuine heart for those in need.

If you have items in your closet that are no longer being used, we kindly ask that you consider donating them to Dressing Blessings. Your contribution—whether through clothing or financial support—helps us continue serving and blessing others.

Our Proximity van is ready to hit the road, and we’re so grateful to the partners and donors who made this possible.

This is more than transportation; it represents access, consistency, and support for families in our community.

All we’re missing is you!

We’re looking for volunteer drivers to:
• Serve regularly in the evenings, transporting students home from after-school programs
• Step in as needed to help clients get to important appointments and resources

You don’t just drive, you create access, you build trust, and you help bridge the gap.
