New Fall Workshop at the Foundry Makerspace - Fountain Pens
September 15 & 17, 5-9PM
Do you enjoy making things in wood? Ever want to have a go at woodturning? We have helped lots of our neighbors to make wooden pens, using shop tools and wood lathes. Let's kick wooden pen making up a notch with something special.
In this workshop we'll explore making fountain pens and unique writing instruments. We might use exotic woods, and maybe explore a combination of resins, metals, stones, and other inlays. You make the choices, and we do our best to help.
Skills acquired here will apply to a new array of shop projects. We hope to see you there.
This intensive has a limit of 6 participants and is expected to fill quickly. Registration for the workshop is $75.00 when paid in advance, and $95.00 at the door. The fee includes pen hardware parts, a selection of wood blanks and materials, and a one month membership for the Foundry shop during regular Foundry hours.
We make plenty of shop time to complete projects that need more time than the two evenings of lessons. The Foundry always has someone on duty who will guide you through extra steps, or to someone who can help.
To complete the registration process, please call John at 802-274-0420, the Foundry at 802-424-0019, or drop by the Foundry Workshop with your fees.
Thanks to all our community supporters, including Lyndon Institute, Lyndonville Hardware, Ward and Sons, Passumpsic Savings Bank, Hauskaa, Orion Group, and all others who make the Foundry possible.
