We had such a FUN time this week during our First Friday Storytime at the City of Wolfforth Library! We had more than 25 friends join us this month! 🫶 We danced, we sang, we colored and we enjoyed storytime!

This month's book was "Dragon Dreams and Creates" by Slumberkins. The book covered several key elements: creativity, problem solving, imaginative play and emotional regulation. 💙

This beautiful, original artwork was created by Elizabeth Eldredge, a student at Commander William C. McCool Academy in Lubbock ISD.

In addition to being a very gifted artist and illustrator, Lizzy is also very active in her school. She competes on the swim team, is an LISD Scholar, acts in the school theater, and is a member of her school's National Junior Honor Society!

As part of her community service hours with NJHS, we commissioned her artistic talent to create a piece that reflects a truth we believe deeply: every child deserves to feel safe, valued, protected, and loved. Lizzy conceptualized this piece from start to finish. 🎨💙

Thank you, Lizzy, for using your gifts to support children and families in our community. Your artwork is a reminder of why this work matters. We wish you so much success as you transition into 8th grade!!!!

📚 First Friday Storytime is one of our favorite ways to encourage a love of reading!📚

Through stories, conversation, and connection, children build important literacy skills while making happy memories with the adults who love them. Join us for this month's storytime this Friday at 10AM at the City of Wolfforth Library.
