The current administration has waged a war against diversity, equity, and inclusion. Voters just hired a bunch of women, Blacks, Latinas, and other candidates from underrepresented groups to be their leaders. It's almost like voters would like their representatives to reflect the diversity of the country.

Here in Michigan, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed will be the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate.

In Georgia, Keisha Lance Bottoms is the first Black woman in the country to be elected to the office of governor.

In New Mexico, Deb Haaland, the former U.S. Secretary of the Interior, is the first Native American to be elected to the office of governor.

Gina Hinojosa is the first Latina to be elected governor of Texas.

Dr. Amy Acton is the first woman to be elected governor in Ohio and the first Jewish governor in the state's history.

David Crowley will be the first Black governor of Wisconsin, and Byron Donalds will be Florida's first Black governor.

In New Hampshire, Chris Pappas will be the first openly gay U.S. senator.
