Huge thank you to the and their Horticulture Training Program for supporting our Essex Roof Top Farm! We were proud to welcome an amazing group of local youth who rolled up their sleeves to help prepare our planting beds for the growing season ahead. We’re grateful for partnerships that create meaningful experiences for young people while helping grow greener, healthier neighborhoods. Thank you again to everyone who joined us and contributed their energy and enthusiasm to the farm!

Shoutout to , .katz , , , and for shining a light on Project EATS and the communities we serve.
It was inspiring to witness the incredible work the students created at The Drawing Center under Allison Katz’s guidance throughout this month-long collaboration. Using Katz’s poster-making process as a foundation, the young artists developed original works that were wheatpasted across NYC’s SoHo neighborhood to raise awareness of Project EATS and its mission.
We’re deeply grateful for this meaningful partnership and for the creativity, care, and connection it continues to cultivate.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night at Vicente Wolf’s home for such a beautiful evening of conversation, connection, and community.

Gathering in a space filled with creativity and care reminded us how deeply art, food sovereignty, and collective action can bring people together. We’re so grateful to share this work with all of you.

Because of your support, Project EATS will grow and donate more than 10,000 pounds of fresh, organic produce this year across our four farms: Wards Island, Essex Crossing, MGX, and The Rise in Brownsville. Your donations directly benefit families in the communities where we work.

Stay tuned for more events!

Linda Goode Bryant, founder of Project EATS, will debut a new work at the Venice Biennale in the main exhibition “In Minor Keys,” curated by the late Koyo Kouoh.

Linda’s project, Still Life, is a multimedia, site-specific installation that includes a 3,500-square-foot urban farm and a new film. The work weaves together contemporary art, climate action, and food justice in one of the world’s most fragile cities.

We’re proud to share some of the foods of black history with you on the final weekend of Black History Month.

Today we honor Black History Month with flavors rooted in resilience, culture, and tradition.
Okra arrived in the Americas during the transatlantic slave trade and became a staple in Southern cooking. Black-eyed peas symbolize prosperity and are traditionally eaten for good luck. Cornmeal became a foundational ingredient in breads and porridges, sustaining generations when resources were limited. Collard greens, rich in nutrients, became a symbol of endurance and community.

These foods are more than ingredients, they are living history, connecting Africa to the American South and reminding us how culture survives and thrives through the table.

We’re looking forward to growing okra and collards at our farms this summer!
