Grand Street Guild Healthy Homes Connect

Henry Streetโ€™s Community Health Workers (CHWs) can provide easy access to Henry Street Settlementโ€™s broad range of services like legal and financial counseling services, free parenting support services, mental health care, workforce development and education for adults, youth and teens, senior services like Meals On Wheels, and more. We host monthly workshops on health topics throughout the year, and have a weekly walking group during the spring and summer season. Join us!

Some History: During the first World Health Organization meeting of 1946 health was defined as โ€œa state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease.โ€ Our CHWs use this knowledge to continue building individual and community capacity by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support and advocacy (American Public Health Association, 2005).
