Well,I've talked it over with several guys who's opinions and views I trust.Joel has donated this truck to us,he has everything to put it back together. Dick Seger thinks that if the engine is not stuck, someone with mechanical skills could make it run.
Any antique truck we have given away in the past has always had to start, run, move and stop.
I went after this truck because of it's local history, but it's still a project truck, but many tell me to save it because someone out there wants it,so this is what my plan is for it.
Several people have said they would help to get it running, so we will buy a battery or two and fuel for it. Let me know if you are capable of and willing to spend a day or two on it. I'd love to see Dick's smile hearing the old Detroit sing again!
Two ways going forward, this truck will be offered as and as is,where is project truck. If you want a chance at it,send a 50,00 ,fifty dollar entry donation. If we receive 100,one hundred, entry donations, then Joel and Dick's 860 GMC will go to the winner at the 2027 show. If we don't receive the 100 one hundred entrys for this truck alone, then it will be used as is,as our third antique truck along with our Ford Lt-9000 and our GMC Astro 95 at the show.
If that happens all 50 dollar entry donations will be returned. So if you want a chance at the Ford and Astro and a third prize, send your 100.00 dollar entry donation .If you want a chance at just the GMC PROJECT TRUCK AS IS,send your 50,00 dollar entry donation to the Springtime Truck and Tractor Show 24 West Old Main Road Lowell Maine 04493.Please include your contact phone number and address.
