Take some inspiration from our Orrville staff! Keith and Andrew thrifted their costumes right from our Orrville store, proving that you don't have to spend a fortune to look spook-tacular!

Need a last-minute costume or decor? Our Orrville store and all of our other Goodwill Wayne & Holmes locations still have a great selection of Halloween goodies waiting for you!

Stop in, get creative, and thrift your Halloween look before it's too late!

Our CEO, Dawn Cazzolli, and Marketing Coordinator, Ashlyn, had a great time at Western Reserve Group's Mission: Possible event!

Western Reserve Group partnered with United Way Wayne and Holmes Counties to bring together local nonprofit organizations and give them the opportunity to share the life-changing work happening right here in our community.

Our assignment? "Think Before You Thrift!"

Of course, we had to put everyone's Goodwill knowledge to the test with a little Goodwill Jeopardy! We had a blast sharing fun facts, busting misconceptions, and talking about our Workforce Development programs and the many ways we help individuals build skills, overcome barriers, and achieve their goals.

Because when you think about Goodwill, we want you to think beyond the thrift store! Every donation and purchase helps support our mission of creating opportunities and changing lives right here in Wayne and Holmes Counties!

Goodwill Industries of Wayne & Holmes Counties holds an employee Halloween costume contest every year, and this year they needed some awards for the employees who went above and beyond with their costumes! 🎃👻

Of course, one of the coolest categories had to be Best DIY Costume from Goodwill! What better way to celebrate creativity, sustainability, and a little Halloween fun?

Reuse. Reduce. Recycle. ♻️🎃

We loved getting to help create awards for this fun tradition and can’t wait to see the creative costumes their employees come up with this year!

A BIG thank you to our local Girl Scouts!

This past Saturday, we had some very special visitors at our Goodwill Wayne & Holmes stores for Girl Scout Good Turn Day!

Girl Scouts from across our community stopped by to donate gently used items, give back to their community, and earn their adorable Good Turn Day owl patches!

These young girls are learning that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a BIG difference. Their donations help support Goodwill's mission of providing job training, career services, and opportunities for people right here in Wayne and Holmes Counties.

We loved seeing all the smiling faces and watching our next generation of community leaders put kindness into action!

Thank you to all the Girl Scouts, troop leaders, and families who participated! We hope you love your new owl patches as much as we loved having you visit!

Meet Ava!

Determination, hard work, and a bright future ahead! Meet Ava Thompson, one of our incredible youth participants in Goodwill Wayne & Holmes' CCMEP program!

Despite facing personal challenges, Ava has continued to push forward, proving that with dedication and the right support, great things are possible.

This summer, Ava stayed busy! She worked in our Goodwill factory through our Summer Youth Program, participated in multiple career days, completed Goodwill Academy, developed her resume, and reached an exciting milestone, earning her driver's permit!

But Ava isn't stopping there! Currently attending Wayne County Schools Career Center, she's already setting her sights on her next goals: attending driving school, earning her driver's license, and potentially continuing her education at Ohio State ATI in Wooster after graduation.

With the support of her Case Manager, Andi Mast, Ava continues to build the skills, confidence, and independence needed to reach her goals.

This is what Goodwill's mission is all about. Helping young people overcome barriers, discover their potential, and create opportunities for brighter futures right here in our community.

Way to go, Ava! We're so proud of your accomplishments and can't wait to see what you achieve next!

Hard work deserves a celebration!

Our Industrial Services team didn't just meet their Q3 goals... they EXCEEDED them!

To celebrate their incredible hard work and dedication, our VP of Operations, Brett, fired up the grill and hosted a cookout and potluck for the team! 🍔🌭

Did you know Goodwill Wayne & Holmes does more than just retail? Our Industrial Services team works behind the scenes making parts for local companies like Wooster Brush and Schaeffler! Through these partnerships, we're able to provide valuable services to local businesses while creating meaningful employment opportunities right here in our community.

Congratulations to our Industrial Services team on an outstanding Q3! Here's to finishing the year strong!

Introducing our FIRST Community Collection Partner!

We're excited to announce that YMCA's The Learning Academy is officially our very first Community Collection Partner!

You may notice a new Goodwill donation bin at The Learning Academy, and it's part of something BIG we're working on at Goodwill Wayne & Holmes!

Our Community Collection Partnership Program makes giving back easier than ever! We partner with local businesses, schools, and organizations to place Goodwill donation bins right at their locations. This allows employees, families, and community members to conveniently donate gently used items while supporting a great cause.

And here's the best part! These partnerships can also serve as a fundraising opportunity! Participating organizations can earn funds based on the amount of donations collected, creating a simple way to raise money for their own programs, projects, or causes while giving back to the community.

It's a win-win! Our partners can raise funds for their organizations, while donated items help support Goodwill's job training, career coaching, case management, and other life-changing programs right here in Wayne and Holmes Counties!

A huge THANK YOU to YMCA's The Learning Academy for being the first to join us in this exciting initiative!

Interested in becoming a Community Collection Partner? We'd love to work with you! Email [email protected] to learn more about bringing a donation bin to your location.

Together, we're turning donations into opportunities for our entire community!

Meet Daryck!

When Daryck first came to Goodwill Wayne & Holmes, he was looking for a fresh start. After facing significant challenges, including unemployment and rebuilding his life following incarceration, he was determined to create a better future for himself.

Through our Workforce Development team's Workplace Connections program, Daryck received employment support, guidance, and encouragement to help him move forward.

Daryck successfully found employment, but he knew he had more to offer. Rather than giving up or settling for a position that didn't match his skills, he continued working while searching for an opportunity where he could truly thrive.

And his persistence paid off!

Daryck took matters into his own hands and approached the General Manager of a newly opened business. After confidently sharing his skills, experience, and strong work ethic, he was hired on the spot!

Today, Daryck has found an opportunity that better aligns with his strengths and career goals, giving him greater stability and independence.

"I was given the guidance and resources to keep hope alive." – Daryck

Daryck's story is a powerful reminder that a fresh start can lead to incredible opportunities. We're proud to have played a small part in his journey, but it's his determination, patience, and perseverance that made it happen.

Keep going, Daryck! Your future is yours to build!
