American Foundation for Arts Education The Exceptional Story of Our Founders: http://americanartsed.org/founding-story.html

As a powerful nation of creatives, innovators, leaders, and parents, we have the ability and the resources to enhance arts education within our nation's public schools and empower ARTS EDUCATION as the outstanding academic benefit it's meant to be. In 2010, the United States Congress and Senate, inspired by the work of original AFAE founders Carol Channing and Harry Kullijian, endorsed the vital n

eed for arts education in our public schools by unanimously passing HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 275 which designates the second week of September as “National Arts In Education Week.”

Harry passed away in 2011 and Carol has since retired from the Foundation, but their legacy and memory continues through the work of family, friends, supporters, and the artistic community.
