Applications for the 2026 SGT Ryan E. Doltz Scholarships are now available at www.RememberingRyan.org. Scholarships are being offered to a graduate of a Morris County, NJ, high school who is a member of their high school band and to a member of the NJ National Guard, active or retired, or a dependent of a NJ National Guard member (spouse, child, or stepchild). All complete applications must be received on or before April 1, 2026.

On June 5, 2005, Greg Biffle remembered Ryan as he drove the National Guard car to victory in a NASCAR race at Dover International Speedway, exactly one year after Ryan was killed in Iraq. Ryan loved NASCAR and was probably bragging to anyone who listened how he’d just won, as if he’d been driving the car himself. Today we remember Greg Biffle and his family.

Today was the final day of the 2025 New Jersey Run for the Fallen. From Cape May to Holmdel, each mile run is dedicated to a NJ service member who died during the Global War on Terror. Thank you to the organizers, the support team members, and most especially the runners for their dedication in making this a great event to honor and remember the fallen, including Ryan.
