Saving animals thru community education, assisting local rescues by combining efforts and sharing resources to everyone.

HCPA was originally geared to helping other local rescues in getting organized, looking for grants & supplies, etc. For several years, we had a full army of fosters and were able to transfer hundreds of dogs/puppies to other states. HCPA has always been flexible with the direction of our programs. We have limited our intakes this year and are focusing on getting our current animals adopted as they have been here too long and deserve their own families. Unfortunately, this year, our cat program has been closed and we are no longer in Petco in Greenville. We may occasionally have a cat or kitten available for adoption and do hope this program can be started again at some point in the future. Like all rescues, we are always short on volunteers & fosters and our finances are always a struggle. We are able to continue thru the generosity of others. August 2021

A lot of you were not around when we took in a cooler (yes a cooler!) full of puppies. Had someone not found them when they did, they would not have made it. I still appreciate Dr McCreary for her immediate attention to these babies and with their journey to being adopted.

They somehow survived in the hot Texas sun.

HCPA is always in need of dog food and using our local feed store is not only an easy way to purchase, it supports a local business.

These prices are comparable to what we have been paying at the farm stores in the area. It is cheaper than most foods purchased through Chewy.

NOTE: these are 50 lbs bags

It's with mixed emotions to tell you that my precious, Angel, passed away last night. I was blessed to be able to hold her and talk to her as she crossed over. She was estimated to be 12 years old and was pulled from the Greenville Animal Shelter on 09/13/2016. TEN YEARS.... that's how long she's been in the care of HCPA. She was a joy to have around and should have been a spokesperson for the pit bull breed as she was just a perfect "angel". She definately lived up to her name. She had recently had an episode of "old dog syndrome" and was struggling with arthritis. She now runs free and joins the other HCPA animals that were waiting for her on the other side of the rainbow bridge. It was a hard one to lose but I'm glad she no longer struggles to get up and down and left before winter hit. Hug your pets a little longer tonight... we never know when they're going to leave us.

I want to say a big THANK YOU for the donated dog food this week. You truly have no idea how much this helps. There is very little monetary donations these days so Inhave to pay for 99% of food and supplies out of my own pocket. It's truly such a blessing!!

Precious Rikki is still waiting on her own family. This girl is absolutely no problem at all and is a joy to be around. She enjoys bird watching through the window, relaxing on her cat tree, hanging out with the other cats at times and demanding dinner when she thinks I'm running late to feed her. She is comfortable with my house dogs and has been confident since day one and never hid in the house when she first came here. She has been vetted and is ready to go!! HCPA really doesn't handle adoptable cats any more but I found this gal in the ditch and in need of help. She's recovered and R.E.A.D.Y!!!!
>>>LET'S DO THIS AND GET HER ADOPTED!!!
