Lone Oak 4-H Club Lone Oak, Texas 4-H Club we meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:15pm at the Lone Oak Civic Ce

Since its humble beginnings more than 100 years ago, 4-H has grown to become the nation’s largest youth development organization. The 4-H idea is simple: help young people and their families gain the skills they need to be proactive forces in their communities’ and develop ideas for a more innovative economy. That idea was the catalyst to begin the 4-H movement, and those values continue today. As one of the first youth development organizations in America, 4-H opened the door for young people to learn leadership skills and explore ways to give back. 4-H revolutionized how youth connected to practical, hands-on learning experiences while outside of the classroom.

Our Lone Oak 4-H Kickoff Meeting is tomorrow, Sept. 15, at 6pm at Creekside Church of Christ in Greenville. Come find out what being a part of 4-H is all about! We will have hot dogs for everyone and some fun activities. Also, bring a donation of dog treats to support our Hunt County 4-H community service project. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

The Texas 4‑H Homes for Horses program, launched in 2021, empowers youth to make a meaningful difference in equine welfare through hands‑on education, outreach, and adoption. The program culminates at the Texas State 4‑H Horse Show. To date, it has helped 36 at‑risk horses across Texas find renewed purpose and permanent homes. Keep your eye on the State Fair contests. The public speaking contest will be Wednesday, October 14th. And other contest dates will be in September. The rules are not up yet. But keep an eye out.

Our last Lone Oak 4-H Meeting of the year will be Monday, May 4, at The Fry's House (354 Frog Pond Road, Lone Oak). We will be making first responder goodie bags and celebrating our year! The plan is to have hot dogs, s'mores, and games outside! Let me know if you plan to be there!
