Day 2 with Starlight ❤️
Not much progress today, but we're celebrating every little victory.
She continues to eat well, and today I was able to help her have a bowel movement. I still have to stimulate her bowel and bladder, but we're taking things one day at a time.
We made the best of the day. We spent some time outside enjoying the fresh air, and then she even came along to a birthday party where she got lots of love and attention. Now she's all tucked in for the night.
Tonight I noticed she can lift her head a little more than she could yesterday, and she does kick her back legs when touched in certain spots. They're tiny improvements, but they're improvements nonetheless.
I also spoke with a veterinarian friend, who feels this may be something cognitive or neurological. Sadly, we'll probably never know exactly what happened to her. I can tell she belonged to someone at one point—she had no fleas, her coat was in good condition, and she appeared to have been cared for before she was found.
For now, we're just focusing on giving her every chance we can. Thank you to everyone who has been praying, sending good vibes, and checking in on our sweet girl.
Stay tuned... Starlight is still fighting. 💜🐾
