+ We have conserved over 15,000 acres. As a regional land trust, we oversee
properties in 12 counties in our central and southeastern Ohi

o service area.

+ AOA is implementing a number of targeted conservation initiatives. We have
prioritized conservation of the Scioto River Flyway Corridor, including Big Darby
Creek and the Hocking River Conservation Corridor.

+ Our efforts focus on landscape-scale ecosystem conservation.

+ Be sure to join us on one of our many free events throughout the southcentral Ohio
region; including on-site activities, events, programs, field trips

+ AOA is a major landowner with significant stewardship and monitoring
responsibilities. We carry out a wide range of ongoing stewardship activities. Restoration of native habitat and management of invasive species are high
stewardship priorities.

+ AOA’s land strategy promotes the conservation of properties in each community to
provide locally accessible nature sites suitable for nature-based education and
recreation.

Join Us this Sunday for a Prairie Walk and Seed Collection
at AOA's Trella Romine Prairie Preserve - Green Camp, Marion County

We will learn about our native grassland habitats while collecting seeds from a variety of native grass and prairie forb species growing on this site, one of Ohio’s few remaining native prairie habitats, now almost extirpated throughout its former range. Collected seed will be used to support native plant restoration and reintroduction efforts at several AOA Preserves.

Learn more on our website:

Walk the trail and experience AOA’s Trella Romine Prairie while helping to collect native prairie seed.

Join AOA for a guided “saunter” into a natural setting to share mindfulness practices. In addition to mindful walking, we do centering and breath work, learn to forest bathe and enjoy open seated meditation in a “sit spot”.

Elements of a mindful outdoor hike include:
● Forest bathing - taking in, with all of our senses, the forest atmosphere
● Biophilia - remembering to focus on life and lifelike processes
● Species re-connection - breaking through isolation from the natural world
● Refuge - finding peace and refuge in the natural world

Visit https://www.appalachiaohioalliance.org/event/mindful-aoa-menchhofer-preserve/ for more info!

Please plan to leave your cell phones in the car or have them on airplane mode for the duration of the hike. Exceptions may be made for certain situations, but the intention is to have a technology free experience.
