Please join us in congratulating Alex Pereira, BGCLBC’s 2026 Youth of the Year!

Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier leadership and recognition program, celebrating young people who exemplify academic success, strong character, leadership, and service to their communities. Club Youth of the Year winners advance through local, state, regional, and national levels of competition, sharing their stories and advocating for the impact of Boys & Girls Clubs.

After being named BGCLBC’s Youth of the Year, Alex proudly represented our organization at the New Jersey State Youth of the Year competition.

While she did not take home the state title, she earned a place among the Top 4 finalists in New Jersey, an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to her hard work, resilience, and leadership.

Alex, we are incredibly proud of you and grateful for the way you represent our Club and inspire those around you.

Alex P. our 2026 Youth of the Year and 2024 NJ State Youth of the Year (seated front right), and Faith M., our 2025 Youth of the Year (seated front left), joined our CEO, Joseph Licata, our Program Director, Laura Marquez, 2026 NJ State Youth of the Year and Northeast Region Youth of the Year, Aryiane H. (seated center) of BGC of Atlantic City, and representatives from Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey (BGCNJ), to advocate New Jersey legislators to support Boys & Girls Clubs across New Jersey! Wow, what a season!!! Teamwork (and hard work) makes the dream work!

Help us give a big SHOUTOUT to our Boys 12U, 14U, and HS travel basketball teams who closed out the Spring season with an AAU Overall Teams Record of 25-4, for what may be the most impressive finish our teams have had.

Boys 12U - Undefeated Champions with a 9-0 Record, plus Division & Playoff Champs!

Boys 14U - Playoff Champs and Division Runner-Up with a 7-2 Record.

Boys High School Team - Division Champs, Sectional Playoff Champs, and State semi-finalists, finishing with a 9-2 Record!
