The Professional Firefighters of Brentwood MO joined Richmond Heights, MO Fire Department this morning for pump training.

Crews practiced receiving pressurized water, relaying water, flowing hand lines, and deploying a master stream device.

Today, the Professional Firefighters of Brentwood MO gave a station tour to the kindergartners from Mark Twain Elementary School. During their visit they learned about our equipment, life around the station, and fire prevention safety.

Congratulations to the members of the Professional Firefighters of Brentwood MO who were pinned and sworn in at last night's board of alderman meeting with their families.

New Members:

Harry Rogers-Bocter has been assigned to B shift. Jake Gresham will start on C shift upon completion of the St. Louis County Fire Academy, Inc.

Promotions:

Marcus Herman was pinned for his promotion to Assistant Fire Chief. Seth Carey was pinned for his promotion to Lieutenant on A shift.

Congratulation to Joey Marciano for the completion of his first year probationary period. During his first year, Joey has completed the St. Louis County Fire Academy, Inc., studied the streets of Brentwood, and continuously learned to sharpen his EMS/Firefighting skills.

For this week’s training, departments from our region along with Washington University in St. Louis physicians blended an EMS and Tech rescue scenario. Members used high angle rope systems, extrication tools, and critical care medicine to rescue two victims involved in crush injuries.

Tonight, members of the Professional Firefighters of Brentwood MO celebrated the graduation of class 127. We want to congratulate our two new hires, Dan and Harry, for their completion of the St. Louis County Fire Academy, Inc.

This class was dedicated to Brentwood FD retiree Matt Stoverink. At the end of the ceremony, Matt gave a commencement speech. He sent the class off with career tips, personal life advice, and many other words of wisdom to a long and healthy career.

This week our Professional Firefighters of Brentwood MO were able to participate in the first ever multi company training at the new facility.

Crews focused on honing skills in vertical ventilation, victim rescue from upper level floors, ladder throws and placement.

At 0900 this morning the Professional Firefighters of Brentwood MO responded to a first alarm house fire at the 8400 block of Rosalie Ave. The majority of fire was in a single room with minor extensions to the attic. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire with a single line. A family member was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Great job to all crews for excellent patient care and getting a quick knock on the fire!
