One year ago, Amanda McKeen launched North of Normal with a simple goal: to have meaningful conversations with the people who make our communities what they are.

Over the past year, the show has introduced listeners to veterans, business owners, volunteers, artists, community leaders, and neighbors whose stories might otherwise go untold.

As the show celebrates its first anniversary, we'd like to thank our listeners, guests, supporters, and community partners for helping make it possible.

There won't be a new episode this week, but we'd like to revisit one of our favorites: the episode where Amanda is interviewed by her cat, William Wallace.

Yes, really.

What begins as a playful conversation turns into a thoughtful look at the experiences that shaped Amanda, the story behind North of Normal, and why authentic storytelling matters so much to the show's mission.

If you've joined us sometime during the past year and haven't heard this one yet, now is the perfect time.
