Today, GHGS participated in Advocacy Day at the New Jersey State House in Trenton, NJ, alongside AlsoHuman, Aileen Rivera, Passaic County Parents of Adults with Disabilities-PACOPAD, families, and advocates from across state of New Jersey.

We attended the Law and Disability Conference and connected with our colleague Walter Kalman from NJAIDD. The conference offered valuable insights on the proposed changes to Medicaid and SNAP benefits under H.R. 1 and their potential effects. Thanks to everyone who continues to advocate for increased support, essential benefits, and better opportunities for the disability community. Together, we can make a difference.

Attendees will have the chance to learn about key issues affecting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, access helpful resources, and connect with organizations and professionals committed to supporting the disability community.

Thank you to the Consulate of Mexico in New Brunswick for inviting us to the Mobile Consulate event. It was a privilege to speak about guardianship and offer information and guidance to families on the importance of planning for their loved ones.
