West Essex Philatelic Society

West Essex Philatelic Society Stamp Collecting - Philately - Stamp Club During the past 81 years, the Society has been continuing to carry out these aims fully. maintained by the Society.

The West Essex Philatelic Society (WEPS) was incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey on November 5, 1930, with its first meeting held that date and attended by twelve members. As set forth in its incorporation papers, the Society was founded for the purpose of assisting its members in acquiring philatelic knowledge and to promote and perpetuate knowledge of philately in general. It

is also expressly stated in these papers that the Society shall cultivate a feeling of friendship and common interest among its members. It is widely known as one of the most prestigious philatelic organizations in the East. A very wide range of philatelic interests and "specialties" are represented by members as are professional and occupational background, age and gender. The Society is affiliated with both the American Philatelic Society (APS) and the North Jersey Federation of Stamp Clubs (NJFSC). This assures WEPS members of many advantages otherwise unobtainable. Meetings are normally held twice monthly, on the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings of each month at the:

As of April 10, 2017 we will be meeting at the Little Falls Civic Center
19 Warren St. Little Falls, NJ

Please do not go to the Verona Public Library. While there is swapping, buying and selling going on between members, active collectors find that stamps offered through the Ciruit Books provide valuable additions and fillers to members' collections. A monthly auction also enable a "fair-market" exchange of philatelic material to the advantage of both buyers and sellers. Speakers, slide programs, contests and exhibits round out the activities of the club. Seasonal newsletters with meeting announcements are mailed to members and serve to keep members informed of new reference books, etc. Operating costs are met by low-cost dues. We welcome all visitors but solicit philatelists residing in the Northern New Jersey area to join us. Full membership requires that the applicant be 18 years of age. Applicants between the ages of 15 and 18 may be granted "Junior" status. Please visit our website for more information. Keywords:

Please note that we will no longer be meeting at the Verona Public Library in Verona, NJ. Our new meeting place will be the Little Falls Civic Center at 19 Warren St. Little Falls.

The Verona Public Library is going to be having major construction which is going to last for about 2 years. Even though the construction is not due to start until the summer, we could not delay in finding a new location. Our relocation team did a great job and I think everyone is going to love our new location. We will not have to set up and breakdown the tables, the lighting is great, there is a full kitchen, We were able to move the philatelic library there.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there on the 10th.
