🐾 Meet Solly! 15 Pounds of Love, Play, and Cuddles! 🐾
Solly is a 4-year-old, 15-pound little guy who believes life is better when it includes people to love, dogs to play with, and a cozy spot to cuddle. If you're looking for a small companion with a big appreciation for togetherness, Solly might be your guy!
This friendly boy loves people and enjoys playing with other dogs. He’s happy to join in the fun, but he also knows the importance of slowing down for some quality cuddle time. Solly is the kind of little companion who wants to be part of your day, whether that means playing with his canine friends or settling in close for some affection.
Solly came to Fur Fun Rescue as an owner surrender, and we now have all the dogs from his former home in our care. We even have a little insight into his family tree! One of his puppies had DNA testing last year, revealing that Solly has 11 breeds in his DNA. He is primarily Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, Pug, Miniature Pinscher, and Poodle, with a few more breeds mixed into the recipe. Apparently, making a small dog requires a surprisingly long ingredient list!
Solly is doing well at house training. He needs to go outside every couple of hours, so his new family should be prepared to keep up with a regular potty schedule while he continues learning. A physically fenced yard is required so Solly can safely run, play, and enjoy some outdoor fun.
Solly is ready for a fresh start with a family who will give him plenty of love, opportunities to play, and a comfortable place to snuggle up at the end of the day. At 15 pounds, he won't take up much room on the couch, but he may have some very definite opinions about how much of your lap belongs to him!
Solly is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.

🐾 Meet Rex! Your Future Best Friend Comes With a Few Tricks! 🐾
Rex is a 5-month-old yellow Lab mix weighing 30 pounds, and this boy is already showing off some impressive skills! He's one smart puppy who clearly believes in getting a head start on his education.
Rex knows how to sit, shake, and lie down, and he walks nicely on a leash. While some puppies are still trying to figure out which end of the leash they're supposed to follow, Rex is already making his foster family look good!
He's also potty trained and will bark to let you know when he needs to go outside. Apparently, Rex believes communication is important in a successful relationship. He's got the basics covered, and he's ready to keep learning.
When he's not busy demonstrating his intelligence, Rex is all puppy! He loves playing tug-of-war and fetch, and he gets along well with both dogs and cats. He'd enjoy a family that has time for play, training, adventures, and all the fun that comes with raising a young dog.
Rex came to Fur Fun Rescue as a local owner surrender. His owner was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, and caring for a puppy was simply too much to manage. It was a difficult decision, but Rex is now looking for a family who can give him the time and attention he deserves.
A physically fenced yard would be wonderful for Rex, giving him a safe place to run, play fetch, and burn off some of that puppy energy.
At just 5 months old, Rex has so much potential. He's smart, playful, good with other animals, and already working hard on his good-dog résumé. With continued training, love, and consistency, he's going to make someone a terrific companion.
Rex is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.

🐾 Mylo Has a House Full of Boys! 🐾

Mylo moved in with his new family, and it didn't take long for the welcoming committee to show up!

His new little brother, Bodie, was VERY excited to have a new playmate. Crush, the Chocolate Lab, was also happy to see Mylo. Now Crush can sit back, supervise the youngsters, and let the two pups burn off their energy while he enjoys the show.

But perhaps the best part of this adoption? Every human boy in the house now has a dog to sleep with!

Mylo has gone from being dumped and shot to a family full of boys and two canine buddies to show him the ropes.

Thank you to Mylo's new family for welcoming him into your home and giving him so many friends to grow up with.

The Breakfast Club Is Officially All Checked Out!

Athena’s 10th and final puppy has gone home! Crumpet has joined her new family, and the last little breakfast item has officially left the litter. ️

Crumpet’s new parents plan to give her a new name, but they’re going to spend a little time getting to know her first. We think that’s a pretty good plan. After all, you need to know a girl before deciding what to call her for the next 15 years!

It’s hard to believe all 10 of Athena’s puppies have now found families of their own. From tiny breakfast-themed babies to beloved family members, watching them grow up and head off to their new lives has been quite an adventure.

Thank you to Crumpet’s family for choosing rescue and giving this little girl a home of her own.

Congratulations, Crumpet! We can’t wait to hear what name you end up with, and we hope your new life is filled with love, happy adventures, and all the treats a growing girl could want!

🐾 Meet Bartholomew! 🐾
Bartholomew is a one-year-old, 40-pound Lab mix with an adorable face, a beautiful coat, and approximately 40 pounds of enthusiasm, wiggles, questionable spatial awareness, and an unreasonable amount of happiness packed into one dog.
Bartholomew has a simple philosophy: he isn't too much. You are just not enough.
Do you want a dog who politely places his head in your lap and waits patiently for pets?
Bartholomew has another approach. He will arrive on your lap like a small, furry tornado with very little advance warning. Personal space? He has heard of it, but has chosen not to participate.
Bartholomew loves people, loves other dogs, and loves to play. He is boisterous, affectionate, and genuinely delighted to be alive. His tail operates independently and appears to have its own weather system, complete with three speeds: happy, happier, and clear the coffee table.
He needs a home that understands that sometimes loving a dog means accepting that your living room may occasionally become a racetrack. Bartholomew does not need a house where someone is clutching their pearls because he came galloping through the room. He needs someone who sees him charging toward them and thinks, “Hell yeah, that's my dog!”
His leash manners are currently nonexistent. As far as Bartholomew is concerned, a leash is simply a piece of equipment humans insist on holding while he heads toward whatever looks interesting. He will need someone willing to work with him on learning how to walk politely.
Because Bartholomew has some leash work ahead of him, a physically fenced yard is required. He needs a safe place where he can run, play, and burn off some of that enthusiasm without relying on his current relationship with a leash.
If you want a quiet little shadow who delicately follows you from room to room, Bartholomew is probably not your guy.
If you want an active, happy dog who will enthusiastically join you for adventures, play with other dogs, make you laugh, and remind you that personal space is wildly overrated, Bartholomew would like to meet you.
And despite all that enthusiasm, this boy does have some manners! He is housetrained and, believe it or not, can be left loose in his foster home while his foster mom is at work. So underneath all those wiggles and questionable decisions about where his body ends, there is a very good boy in there.
Bartholomew is looking for an active family who will appreciate his larger-than-life personality and give him plenty of opportunities for exercise, play, adventure, and continued training.
Come prepared to be loved enthusiastically. Bartholomew doesn't do anything halfway.
Bartholomew is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

Meet Daisy!
If you're looking for a dog who is equal parts cuddle bug, comedian, and loyal companion, Daisy is ready to steal your heart.
Daisy is an 20-month-old, 30-pound Beagle mix with a sweet, loving personality and just the right amount of playful energy. She's happiest when she's with her people and has a knack for making everyone smile.
One of Daisy's favorite hobbies is giving what her foster family calls "free facials." If you're within tongue's reach, don't be surprised if she decides your face could use a little exfoliating! And if you're scrolling on your phone or reading a book instead of paying attention to her, she'll solve that problem by hopping up and sitting right on whatever has your focus. She firmly believes your attention belongs to her, and she's usually right.
When playtime is over, Daisy is content to curl up on your lap and watch TV. She loves toys, enjoys chasing squirrels in the yard, and has a wonderful off switch when it's time to relax. She requires a physically fenced yard to safely run and play.
Daisy gets along well with other dogs and loves to play but doesn't need a canine companion to be happy. She would enjoy having all your attention to herself. She is house trained, kennel trained and has excellent house manners. She doesn't really need to be kenneled when left alone.
One thing to know about Daisy is that she prefers to eat her meals without other dogs crowding her food bowl. Having experienced hunger in the past, she's protective of her food, and it's easy to understand why. Simply feeding her separately from other dogs is all it takes to keep everyone happy.
At bedtime, Daisy's favorite place to sleep is snuggled up in bed with her foster parents. She loves being close to her people and will gladly end every day with a cuddle.
Daisy is looking for a family who will appreciate her affectionate personality, laugh at her silly antics, and make room for one very lovable Beagle mix on the couch... and probably in the bed, too. If you're looking for a best friend who will keep you entertained, shower you with kisses, and remind you every day that life is better with a dog, Daisy is waiting to meet you!
Daisy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

Miley: Fetch Champion, Adventure Buddy, and Loyal Best Friend
If you're looking for a fun-loving companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Miley is ready to meet you. This 2½-year-old, 65-pound Shepherd mix is equal parts athlete, best friend, and couch companion.
Miley is smart, eager to learn, and always ready to earn a treat. She already knows how to sit, shake, and lie down, and her food motivation makes training both easy and enjoyable. Miley can even catch treats! She loves having a job to do and would thrive with a family that enjoys continuing her training and keeping her mind engaged.
When it comes to fun, Miley has one true passion: balls. Toss one and watch her spring into action. Whether it's a game of fetch in the yard or carrying her favorite toy around the house, Miley approaches life with enthusiasm and joy.
Miley does well with other dogs, but initially she can be reactive because she is fearful. We believe she may have been attacked by another dog in the past. She takes her cues from the dogs around her. If a dog approaches calmly and respectfully, Miley is happy to meet them and does just fine. However, if a dog comes charging toward her, barking and acting excited, Miley will likely respond in kind.
Her reactivity can also show up when she encounters dogs while out on a walk or when another dog is on the opposite side of a fence. Seeing a dog in those situations can make her feel threatened, and she may bark, lunge, or become very focused on the other dog. This doesn't mean she can't live successfully with another dog. It means her family needs to understand her triggers and be willing to manage those situations thoughtfully rather than expecting her to greet every dog she encounters.
Miley has attended doggie daycare and done very well there. She loves to play in an environment where she feels safe. She would be happy as an only dog or with a canine companion who has good social skills and doesn't feel the need to compete with her. Any resident dog should have a calm, appropriate approach to introductions, and we would want the dogs to meet before adoption.
Because new situations can be challenging for Miley, we recently started her on Fluoxetine to help reduce her anxiety. It has been helpful in taking the edge off while she works through some of her fears. She may not always need medication as her confidence grows, but for now, it is an important part of helping her feel more comfortable. The cost is approximately $12 per month, and her future family will need to be comfortable continuing the medication while she needs it.
While Miley enjoys canine company, people are truly her favorite. More than anything, Miley wants a person of her own. She is incredibly loyal and forms strong bonds with the humans she loves. Whether you're heading out on an adventure, throwing a tennis ball in the yard, or relaxing on the couch, Miley wants to be right there with you. She is wonderful with kids and has a gentle, affectionate side that shines once she feels safe and loved.
A physically fenced yard is required for Miley. She loves to run, play, chase toys, and burn off energy, and a fenced yard gives her the freedom to safely enjoy all her favorite activities. Her family will also need to be mindful of fence-line encounters with other dogs and not allow her to rehearse that reactive behavior.
Miley is looking for a home that will see past first impressions, appreciate her sensitive heart, and give her the connection she's been searching for. She needs people who will introduce her to new experiences at her own pace, celebrate her progress, and understand that confidence doesn't happen overnight.
In return, you'll get a devoted companion who will love you with her whole heart, make you laugh every day, and happily spend her life by your side. And if you happen to have a tennis ball handy, you'll probably become her favorite person in record time.
Miley has excellent house manners, is housetrained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.

Meet Molly!
Molly is a two-year-old, 60-pound Great Pyrenees mix who has made some pretty amazing progress since coming to Fur Fun Rescue.
Molly came to us from our friends at Iowa City Animal Care, and we don't think she had spent much time living inside a home before. When she first arrived at her foster home, even walking through a doorway was scary. But after a month with her foster family, Molly has conquered many of those fears and has really come out of her shell.
These days, Molly loves people and attention. She has started discovering the joys of being a dog, including picking up bones to chew, playing with toys, and showing off her playful side. At night, she sleeps on the bed with her foster mom, so she has clearly decided that indoor living has some pretty nice perks!
Molly is also trusted to stay loose in the house when her foster mom is away. She does well with other dogs but is perfectly happy on her own.
She still has a few things to work on. Sudden household noises can frighten her, and the television is particularly suspicious in Molly's opinion. Her adopters will need to be patient and understanding, because Molly's confidence has been built one small victory at a time. She needs people who won't rush her or expect her to adjust overnight. Giving her time, encouragement, and the freedom to figure things out at her own pace will be important.
Molly still enjoys spending time outdoors, so a physically fenced yard is required. A secure yard will give her a place to relax, explore, and enjoy the outdoors without adding unnecessary stress.
Molly has already come such a long way. The scared girl who once wasn't sure about walking through a doorway is now sleeping on the bed, playing with toys, chewing bones, greeting her people, and enjoying the comforts of home.
She's discovering that the world isn't nearly as scary as she once thought. With a patient family willing to let her continue at her own pace, we think Molly has so much more confidence waiting to come out.
Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

Percy is a one-year-old, 18-pound Jack Russell Terrier mix who apparently believes every gathering is a party and every person he sees was invited specifically to meet him.
People? Excellent. Percy loves them all and happily comes running to greet complete strangers. If there’s a party, Percy will be there. If there isn’t a party, Percy may organize one.
Percy also does great with other dogs and loves to play. His favorite game is chase, although Percy prefers to call it “Catch Me If You Can.” He is fast, and he knows it. He also enjoys a good game of tug, and if there isn't another dog around, he is happy to play fetch with his human.
When he's not busy having fun, Percy is surprisingly easy to live with. He is housetrained and can be left loose in his foster home when his people are away. At night, he either sleeps with his foster mom or settles down on a blanket on the floor. He's also great in the car and loves going to the dog park.
Percy is looking for a home where he can be part of the action, whether that's hanging out with his people, playing with a dog friend, going to the dog park, or heading out for a hike or walk.
A physically fenced yard is required so Percy has a safe place to run and play. And trust us, you’ll want a fence. Otherwise, “Catch Me If You Can” may become less of a game and more of a lifestyle.
If you're looking for a friendly little guy with a big personality and an impressive collection of hobbies, Percy would like to know when the party starts!
Percy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

🐾 Meet Sully!
Sully is a one-year-old, 60-pound Lab mix with a sweet personality and a genuine appreciation for being wherever the action is. He loves attention and is happiest when he’s included in whatever his people are doing.
Sully is a smart boy who already knows how to sit and is working on his other commands. He’s still figuring out all the rules of being a well-mannered adult dog, but he’s eager to learn and has a great attitude.
Sully gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves to play. He enjoys a good game of chase, happily shares his toys, and has good social skills. If another dog tells him he’s getting a little too enthusiastic, Sully takes the hint and backs off. He’s playful without being pushy, which makes him a fun companion for other dogs. He gets to go to doggy day care with his foster mom and loves it.
He’s also very curious about the world around him. Sully wants to know what’s happening, investigate everything, and keep tabs on whatever his people are doing. There is a lot to discover when you’re a one-year-old dog, and Sully is determined not to miss anything!
Sully is house trained and kennel trained, so he already has some important life skills checked off his list.
His biggest area for improvement? Walking politely on a leash. Sully currently believes the leash is less of a walking aid and more of a suggestion. He’s a strong boy, so his new family will need to continue working with him on leash manners and help him learn that walks are more enjoyable when everyone stays connected.
A physically fenced yard is required for Sully so he can run and play safely.
Sully is a wonderful combination of sweet, playful, curious, and eager to learn. If you’re looking for a big, happy Lab mix who will keep you entertained and would love to be your adventure buddy, Sully may be your guy!
Sully is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
