YOU have officially raised our thermometer to $140,000! On this day one year ago, our thermometer was only at $35,000 (peep the screenshot below). We dreamed of a goal of $100,000 in one year. Now, we are moving along to that second goal of $200,000. We are screaming from the rooftops that it’s YOU who have made this possible and YOU that deserve the credit. Every grant, donation, sponsorship, and fundraiser moves us another step closer to our goal of revitalizing the A.M. Risher Pool and creating a place our community can enjoy for generations to come.

🎨 Linton History, Through the Art of Norma Witherspoon

We’ve been working our way through the incredible Norma Witherspoon Art Collection that was generously donated to benefit the A.M. Risher Pool Revitalization Project, and we’re excited to finally share it with you!

As we’ve cataloged the collection, one thing has become especially clear: Norma’s artwork tells the story of Linton.

The old high school. The hospital. City Hall. The Carnegie library. Neighborhood schools. Downtown buildings. Churches. And so many other familiar places.

Some are still standing today. Others exist now mostly in photographs and memories — but Norma preserved them through her art.

The collection includes original framed watercolors, prints, greeting cards, sketches and smaller reproductions, with pieces starting at just $3. Whether you’re looking for an original work of art, a gift for a Linton graduate, or simply a little piece of home, there’s something for nearly everyone.
