AgingIN is proud to recognize Mike King, president and CEO of the Jewish Home in Rochester, NY, whose leadership is grounded in hard work, service, and an unwavering commitment to older adults and those who care for them.

From his blue-collar roots in Corning, NY, to leading a 75-acre campus with 15 service lines, Mike has spent his career reimagining what senior care can be. Under his leadership, the Jewish Home has expanded access to housing, strengthened community services, and invested in innovative programs that support both residents and staff.

One initiative especially reflects his people-first philosophy: an employee grocery store that provides eligible team members with free groceries twice a month. As Mike says, “If we want our staff to provide world-class care, we have to care for them first.”

A devoted family man, outdoor enthusiast, and lifelong advocate for service, Mike continues to shape the future of aging services with vision, compassion, and purpose.

Thank you, Mike, for your dedication to improving lives and building stronger communities for older adults. Learn more here: https://heyor.ca/oqjz1c

For Mike King, leadership is defined by the grit of a blue-collar upbringing and a 24/7 commitment to service.

Congratulations to The Mustard Seed Project of Key Peninsula on receiving the 2026 Innovator Award from the National Council on Aging (NCOA)!

AgingIN is proud to recognize and celebrate our partnership with The Mustard Seed Project — a Green House Project community — for their leadership in transforming how communities support older adults through innovation, compassion, and connection.

Their commitment to listening to community needs and creating meaningful solutions around transportation, nutrition, wellness, housing, and social connection reflects values we deeply share. Together, we believe every older adult deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, purpose, and belonging.

This national recognition highlights the incredible impact that collaboration, volunteerism, and community-driven care can have — especially in rural communities.

We’re honored to stand alongside The Mustard Seed Project as partners working toward healthier, more connected aging for all. Congratulations to their dedicated staff, volunteers, supporters, and community members on this well-deserved achievement!

The true power of nurses is not just what they do. It is how they lead, shaping teams, partnerships, and the experience of care.

This National Nurses Week is an opportunity to invest in that leadership.

AgingIN’s Role of the Nurse course is a live, interactive program designed for nurses in Green House and small house homes. It focuses on real-world practice, from building stronger partnerships with direct care partners to navigating dignity of risk, supporting elder-directed decision-making, and addressing challenges like polypharmacy.

Through two virtual sessions and peer collaboration, participants gain practical strategies they can apply immediately.
