Sarama Animal Rescue Sarama Animal Rescue rescues, rehabilitates and finds loving homes for animals in need. We take in all breeds, ages and personalities.

Sarama Animal Rescue rescues dogs, cats and small domestic animals in SouthJersey and New York City areas. We believe all beings have a right to live and thrive. All of our rescues are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccine, heartworm test for dogs, fiv/felv test for cats, microchipped and treated with flea preventative. Any other health issues or injuries are also taken care of by our caring

vets. We work with other rescues and people in the community towards a common goal of making the world a better place for animals. The name of our rescued was inspired by the myth of Sarama, the dog of the gods. Sarama is said to be the mother of all animals and protects them. She also helps to change people view point that animals are a "lesser being". Animals deserve kindness, love and respect just as humans do.

Last August Snowflake was surrendered to ACCT Philly after 15 years of living with her family. She has been experiencing health issues and was urinating outside the litter box. Due to severe over crowing of the shelter, Snowflake was time stamped for euthanasia.

We were able to pull Snowflake and take her into our rescue because a committed foster stepped up. Snowflake was able to get the veterinary care she needed and was put on anxiety meds that helped with her urinating outside the litter box. She is now doing so much better and is thriving.

Then her foster mom decided to make Snowflake a permanent part of her family. We are so incredibly happy for them both ❤️

Fendi is a couch potato cuddle bug who has been great with people and other dogs.

He’s neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

We really need to find a home for Onyx. He is dog, cat and kid friendly.

Onyx is super affectionate and playful. He had TECA surgeries done on both ears but can still hear a little. He does well with routine and when spoken to loudly along with hand gestures.

Onyx is about 3 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

He’s currently in foster care in Allentown, PA

Meet Titan — equal parts playful gremlin, cuddle bug, and loyal best friend. 🖤

Titan is a hilarious, smart, high-personality dog who keeps life entertaining. He loves tug-of-war, fetch, roughhousing with his dog friends, and then curling up beside you like a cinnamon bun for naps.

He currently lives well with other dogs and even gets along with the household cat. With his people, Titan is affectionate, snuggly, and deeply loyal. He’s especially sweet with the kids in his home.

Titan is incredibly smart, wonderfully expressive, and always part of the action — whether he’s sounding the alarm over a suspicious noise or accidentally rolling off the couch during playtime.

He’d thrive with a family that appreciates a dog with energy, humor, affection, and lots of personality.

It’s been a long road for this sweet dog. She was surrendered to ACCT Philly last year, ended up time stamped for euthanasia due to severe overcrowding in the shelter and was pulled at the last moment because a wonderful foster stepped up.

However Molly was very sick and needed to be hospitalized for pneumonia and the day she was released, she had a stroke and needed further care. The recovery was slow and difficult but Molly never gave up and her fosters never gave up on her either.

Molly is doing so much better now health wise. Her foster family reached out to us and said they wanted to make her a permanent part of their family and we were ecstatic. Molly adores them and we know she is very happy there.

Thank you to everyone who chipped in for Mollys vet care, a special thank you to Erica, our adoption coordinator who stayed up all night with Molly in the hospital after her stroke and never stopped advocating for her and believing in her. And thank you to her forever family for giving Molly a chance, a home and so much love. We are forever grateful to all of you.

Yesterday was a big surgery day.

Cinnamon, a dog we pulled from ACCT Philly last year after she was thrown from a second story window and came into the shelter in excruciating pain from her leg being broken in several places. Thankfully the vets were able to save her leg with surgery and she had several months of recovery and rechecks. She has since healed completely and was able to be spayed yesterday. The cost was $598

Coco, a senior Chihuahua who was also saved when she was time stamped at ACCT due to overcrowding, went for her spay, mastectomy and dental. She had a total of 24 diseased teeth removed. Her dental disease was severe and causing her pain and inflammation. Her total was $3,558.79

We were able to raise some funds for Coco but not enough to cover the whole bill. We haven’t raised any funds to cover Cinnamons bill and really need your help.

Our goal is to raise $1000 which would cover Cinnamons bill and the rest of Coco’s bill.

Tagging a time stamped dog is just the first step. So much goes into these dogs who were neglected, abused and suffering to get them to a point where they are healthy and adoptable. Please consider chipping in if you can to help cover these costs and enable us to keep our doors open for more animals in need.

Stan and Ollie came to us as kittens with severe eye infections and upper respiratory infections. But with lots of TLC, medications , vet visits and even surgeries they made a full recovery.

Despite being the sweetest duo, they were with us many months after recovery with no adoption interest. Then last week the moment they have been waiting for came.

A family with two young boys came to meet them and fell in love. They were adopted and are now in their forever home. We are so happy for them!
