Animal Adoption Center A small, family-friendly, no-kill animal shelter located in Lindenwold, NJ. Our shelter is 100% funded by donations.

Tues-Fri 11am-6pm
Sat-Sun 11am-5pm
Closed Monday Animal Adoption Center was founded by Sid Kreitzberg in 1990. Sid is Chairman Emeritus of our board of trustees, and still actively involved with the shelter. In 1985 Sid and a group of 43 volunteers were traveling daily into Camden, NJ to feed sick and starving dogs and cats. At the time Camden was overflowing with stray and abandoned animals, and Sid and his friends set up feeding stations throughout the city to meet the need. His group eventually formed the non-profit Friends of Camden Animal Shelter (FOCAS). FOCAS learned that the SPCA in Lindenwold, NJ was planning to sell their shelter building on Berlin Rd. Camden County purchased the facility and turned it over to FOCAS for one dollar. FOCAS agreed to continue to rescue animals from Camden County communities, and they reincorporated as the Animal Adoption Center (AAC) in 1991. The first board of trustees designated the shelter as a no-kill facility, and it remains so to this day. Their groundbreaking decision predated the public birth of the modern no-kill movement in San Francisco by three years, and was unheard of in the field of animal control at the time. AAC expanded throughout the 1990’s, improving both the property and infrastructure. The facility can comfortably house 32 cats and 41 dogs, and has found homes for more than 16,000 animals since 1990.

🐾 TX UPDATE 🐾 Waived Adoption Fees 🐾
Our team remains on the ground in Texas, working to help care for more dogs surrendered from Dogtown Ranch into safety and care and begin their path to home. Some dogs have already arrived at our local campuses, and more will be traveling to us soon.

We are so grateful to SPCA of Texas for stepping in to welcome many of the dogs and help them find families through their adoption locations.

Now, we need your help. Adoption fees are waived for all dogs 6 months+ across all BVSPCA locations, including Brandywine Valley SPCA - Washington, DC, Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, and Animal Adoption Center, through Sunday, October 11.

Every adoption creates another spot for a dog coming from Dogtown Ranch. Every action you take helps us make room for them and gives them the opportunity to find a safe place and a new family.

Please stop in to meet your next best friend or donate to support their care.

💛🐾 Rio is looking for his forever home... 🐾💛

When Rio first joined our AAC family, we truly thought he wouldn't be with us for long. At 8 years young, he may be a little hard of hearing and sight, but that hasn't stopped him from strutting around our shelter with a swagger that could rival any puppy!

All Rio wants is a family to walk through our doors and say, "You're coming home with us."

Could that family be YOU?
