UCNJ Union College of Union County — Script to Screen starts June 8.

The New Jersey Film Academy lands at UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ. Script to Screen: Introduction to the Entertainment Industry runs June 8 – July 30, 2026, Mondays and Thursdays, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. (no class July 2). Cranford Campus. $375.

Script to Screen is the mandatory prerequisite for all NJFA students — the foundation every career in film and TV is built on. From there, students move on to industry-related courses and certifications: Costuming, Hair & Makeup, Production Accounting, Production Office, Assistant Editing, Editing, Location Management.

The New Jersey Film Academy, housed at Brookdale College, is a bold new initiative training the next generation of creators for today’s entertainment landscape. Script to Screen: Introduction to the Entertainment Industry

Once again, New Jersey Film Academy welcomes award-winning filmmaker, producer, and industry veteran Adam Nelson as instructor for this foundational course on how film and television actually work.
This class is built for people serious about a career in the business.

From early script notes to the final cut, students are taken inside the full production process while learning how jobs really function, how sets operate, and what the industry expects from day one. Above-the-line. Below-the-line. Safety. Unions. Career paths.

Nelson draws on decades of firsthand experience to teach what doesn’t show up in textbooks: how productions run, how people get hired, and how careers actually begin.

Introduction to Production Office: Production Coordinating & Management at starts May 27, 2026 at Brookdale and partner campuses across the state.

Production Managers & Coordinators are the logistical backbone of every film and TV set — keeping the production on time, on budget, and moving from prep to wrap. Students will learn the team’s roles inside the production office, industry-specific terminology, and how to recognize and navigate the documents that run a working set. Strong leadership and communication skills required.
