10 years back (60 anniversary) I had the opportunity to be on staff for a month, TTFC in the mornings, leader training in the afternoons, opportunities to help provide leadership at lakeside and other areas. Midnight zipline. Endless songs at meal times. Serving meals, one cookie or two, two ok snaps cookie in half. The Endless stream of campers with bad jokes to share. Fixing some infrastructure. Still got to spend time with Troop 16 when they came down. Friend ships with fellow staffers. Staff singing "One of us!", to me when I was with my troop. Camp can be a big deal to a young scout. It was an even bigger deal to this old scouter. If you ever get the opportunity, I whole heartedly recommend it. - Ron

Highway cleanup. Saturday May 30th. Meet at Southview 10 am. Then carpool to highway 77. Need adults to ferry youth and keep company as we pick up a myriad of detritus. Done by noon. Scout t-shirt is ok, will have safety vests on. Gloves or grabbers would be nice, and a water bottle.

Nearest location I could find for rainfall near our camp site was Ashland with 2.46 inches. Which is about half as much rain as expected for the entire month, but in 1 night.

Well that was exciting. Tents are dry. Seems down to soaky rain. Everybody back in their dry tents. The unwritten zero point of the scout law. A scout is safe.
