πΊπΈ D-DAY: JUNE 6, 1944 πΊπΈ
Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago. On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave American, British, Canadian, and Allied servicemen faced impossible odds in the fight to liberate Europe from tyranny.
Many never made it home. Their sacrifice helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today and changed the course of history.
As members of Ernest Simmons VFW Post 6722, we honor the heroes of the Greatest Generation and reaffirm our commitment to preserving their legacy. Their courage under fire, devotion to duty, and love of country continue to inspire veterans and citizens alike.
Today, we ask our community to take a moment to remember those who landed on the beaches of Normandy and those who gave their lives in the pursuit of freedom.
We will never forget their sacrifice. We will never forget their service.
