🇺🇸 An Invitation to Honor Our Nation’s Veterans – Veterans Day 2026 🇺🇸

As the VFW District 7 Senior Vice Commander, I would like to personally invite our VFW Department of North Carolina leadership, District 7 officers, Post leadership, and all of our fellow comrades and their families to join us in Harnett County as we gather to honor the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform.

I am deeply honored and humbled to have been invited by the Harnett County Veterans Council to deliver the keynote address at this year’s Veterans Day ceremony.

As we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, this Veterans Day carries special significance. It is an opportunity to reflect on the generations of Americans who have answered the call to serve, the sacrifices made in defense of our freedoms, and the responsibility we share to preserve their legacy.

One of the greatest privileges of serving in the VFW is the camaraderie and lifelong bonds we share as veterans. I can think of no better way to commemorate this important day than standing shoulder to shoulder with my fellow comrades, our families, and the community we proudly serve.

I sincerely hope to see a strong showing of our District 7 VFW family and Department leadership as we come together to honor all who have served.

Please join us for this meaningful occasion. It would be a privilege to have you there!

PASTA PALOOZA IS HERE! Thanks, Rich Bigdaddyg Grimes for allowing me to abscond with your moniker.

A new addition will be Garlic bread sticks, apparently someone hijacked a truck with all of the Garlic bread it seems. Also, purchased a GALLON of Ranch dressing (we are in the south) and Croutons!

This event will support our VFW Auxiliary aka partners in crime. Please attend, and bring all of your friends.

As always we have the cheapest beverages in town and every VFW member here has been prepared to sacrifice ALL.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars' Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen audio essay entries are due October 31. This is less than ONE MONTH AWAY.

This year’s shared theme is “What a Veteran Taught Me About America.”

The VFW Voice of Democracy National first-place winner will receive a $35,000 scholarship; this contest is for students in grades 9-12. The VFW Patriot’s Pen National first-place winner will receive $5,000; this contest is for students in grades 6-8.

Comrades, come one, come all. Commander Jesse Charter and I prepped over 90 choice Ribeyes, and 24 Prime. Over 100 potatoes and enough salad to feed all of your rabbits.

Come hungry and thirsty, we have some beef to sling tomorrow.

Comrades, Brothers and Sisters! Thank you for the Bday Wishes! You all complete me.

I have consulted with our Commander Jesse Charter and he is in agreement. We know times are hard, prices go up and we have absorbed that cost in the spirit of Service and Sacrifice.

Steak nights are our way of raising money for infrastructure and programs that further the mission and vision of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and those very few, prepared to sacrifice ALL.

In that thread, we offer the following:

$23.00 - 12 ounce Ribeye, Baked Potato, Salad and Dessert for Veterans, and VFW members.
$25.00 for those Patriots who love Beef and Veterans - your extra 2 bucks goes a long way believe me.

A FREE 12oz Prime Ribeye for any VFW eligible life installment or paid in full.

This is a night to come together, have Fellowship and Camaraderie and heal through laughter and family fun.

As ALWAYS, we have the most inexpensive beverages in town.

We will have a 50/50 Raffle or Raffle off a higher end bottle of spirits.

Please attend and bring a friend. We need YOU, to ensure our future success.
