🎉 Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest Rotary Club member, Michael Tew!

Secretary Ronnie Faulkner led the swearing-in, and Michael’s wife, April—already a proud member of our club—had the honor of pinning him.

We’re excited to have Michael on board and look forward to the great things we’ll accomplish together! 💙💛

This week our incoming president, Kate Reichart, led the meeting as we welcomed Carolyn Cox from the Harnett County Food Pantry. She shared updates on the challenges they’re facing with federal cutbacks, funding issues, and the delay of their planned building addition.

Our members came together to support the Pantry with donations of large jars of peanut butter, and Kate presented Carolyn with a $200 donation from the club.

We’re proud to stand behind the Food Pantry and the vital work they do in our community. 💙

At our year-end Installation Picnic, we added a new member to our club! Welcome Florentin Grecea!

We also honored some special guests - the family of the late John Rouse joined us and our esteemed club president, Brent Trout, presented them with a $1,000 check towards the scholarship in John's name.

This week, we were honored to welcome Barbara Marchioni, founder of Children’s Blankets of Love, as our guest speaker. Her inspiring organization collects new, unused blankets—softer and warmer than typical hospital-issue—to comfort children facing extended hospital stays. Through the generosity of donors, these special blankets bring warmth and a sense of home when it’s needed most.

The program has grown rapidly to meet increasing needs, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to learn more about this meaningful mission. (Pictures are club president, Brent Trout and Barbara Marchioni).

Early this morning, members of our club came together to pack Buddy Backpack meals for elementary school students in Harnett County.

Pictured are Kelly Trout, Charlene Edwards, April Tew, President-Elect Kate Reichart, Bob Etheridge, a Buddy Backpack representative, and President Brent Trout.

Working side by side in an assembly line, our team helped prepare hundreds of weekend meal bags for children who might otherwise go without. We’re proud to support this important effort and thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in our community.

Day of Service: Keeping Our Community Clean

Club members gathered near Campbell University for an early morning roadside cleanup along Hwy 401, supporting Rotary’s Area of Focus on the Environment. With trash bags in hand and a shared commitment to service, members worked together to help keep our community beautiful.

Every piece of litter picked up is a step toward a cleaner, healthier planet—thank you to everyone who showed up to make a difference!

Supporting Period Empowerment in Our Community

Club members recently delivered approximately $300 worth of essential period products to Butterfly Counseling in Lillington as part of the Period Empowerment Project. This important initiative helps ensure that adolescents and adults in our community who menstruate have consistent access to basic health necessities like pads and tampons.

Many young people miss school simply because they don’t have the supplies they need during their periods. Butterfly Counseling launched this project with a powerful mission: “Everyone deserves access to these basic health items, and this initiative is working to make that a reality in our community.”

Rotary’s areas of focus include Women’s and Children’s Health as well as Sanitation and Hygiene, making this project a perfect match for our Club’s values.

We’re proud to support this effort and help remove barriers to health, dignity, and education in our area.
