Kauai Sea Scouts Aloha from the crew of Decisive! We are a youth adventure program based on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, and we go cruising!

Our mission is to learn about life while we cruise aound Hawaii as the crew of Decisive. Our youth come from all walks of life with very diverse backgrounds, but they all find their place on Decisive. Our program is sponsored by an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit called, "Hawaii Youth Maritime Programs". They own and insure our boat, and we do the rest. We use the curriculum of a national organization, but we receive no funding from them. Decisive is a co-ed program offered to young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. It's a chance to learn and have fun at the same time.

The prized 63-foot yacht had been donated to the nonprofit and was expected to give generations of Kauaʻi youth a chance to learn seamanship and experience extended voyages.

HEARTBREAKING!
We are devastated to announce that our beloved boat, "Sun Seeker" did not make it through Hurricane Lowell.
She sank at the dock and appears to be a total loss.
NO ONE WAS INJURED, but we lost our boat.
This was an amazing boat and was intended to serve the people and youth of Kauai for many years.
Plans change, and we will now consider our options as we soldier on.
The Kauai Sea Scouts are down, but not out.

Bittersweet.
After our amazing, adventure of a lifetime summer cruise, a bit of bad news.
Our beloved boatswain, Destany, is moving away.
Destany has been a.valued crew member for over 5 years and has worked her way through the ranks, eventually becoming boatswain.
She served with honor and distinction, through good times and challenges. She is an amazing boatswain, an amazing Sea Scout, and an amazing human.
We will miss her terribly as we say, "Good bye for now".
