No one can help us better than we can help ourselves. Standing together, as we have always done. Charlie Mike exists to create a new community and a forum for Veteran's to come together so that we can undertake the mission of helping ourselves integrate back into life after military service. f life, in whatever form that may be. No one can help us better than we can help ourselves, and we believe that by standing by one another just as we have all done before, that we can help each other with the struggles of getting back home, back to work, back to school, and back to life. By creating a safe community to simply talk - and more importantly, be heard - we believe that we can all help become self-reliant by helping each other face our wounds that cannot always be seen. And no one will ever take better care of us than we can ourselves. Check our page and

💙 HELP US FIND JETT HIS NEXT HOME 💙

Sometimes loving a dog means making an incredibly difficult decision.

Jett came to us over two years ago from Miami-Dade Animal Services. He was underweight, in rough shape, and unsure if he could trust people. Thanks to the generosity of a family who sponsored his rescue, medical care, training, and journey through our Canine Battle Buddies program, Jett got the second chance he deserved.

A year and a half ago, he found what we hoped would be his forever home with a Veteran family.

Life, however, doesn’t always go according to plan.

His Veteran has been deployed overseas, and her son has been caring for Jett. The two have formed a beautiful bond, and this decision has not been made lightly. Unfortunately, a new job opportunity will require 12-hour shifts plus a long commute, leaving Jett alone for 14–15 hours a day. Knowing that isn’t fair to him, his family has made the heartbreaking decision to return him to us so we can help him find a more suitable home.

Jett is a 3½-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix who is neutered, fully vaccinated, current on all preventatives, and in excellent health. He walks beautifully on leash, knows his commands, and is incredibly loyal to his person. He is a sweet, loving boy who thrives on connection and companionship.

Because we want to minimize the number of transitions he has to go through, we are opening his adoption not only to Veterans and First Responders, but also to approved civilian homes. Our goal is simple: find him the right family as quickly as possible so he can settle back into a home environment and continue the life he deserves.

If you’ve ever shared one of our dogs before, we’re asking for your help again.

Please share. Share again. And then share one more time.

Let’s help Jett find his next chapter. ❤️🐾

Working through distractions today with Atlas. 🐾💛

There was a LOT happening around the farm today, so we decided to use it as a training opportunity and see if Atlas could apply what he’s been learning with real world distractions around him.

Honestly, it turned into way more distractions than I anticipated. 😂 Between the truck picking up the dumpsters, the loud beeping, dumpsters being slammed around, peacocks screaming, and all kinds of other animals from the zoo next to us, there was definitely no shortage of things trying to steal his attention.

But for a puppy, Atlas did really well and we are super proud of him. He would notice the distractions for a second, process them, and then still choose to stay focused and work through what we were asking him to do. That’s a huge part of building confidence and creating a balanced dog.

He’s still very much a puppy, but he continues to grasp everything we’re throwing at him and we’re really excited about his progress so far. 🇺🇸🐶

For those new here, Charlie Mike Battle Buddies are specially trained companion and therapy dogs paired with veterans and first responders, with training tailored to both the dog and the individual receiving them.

We are supposed to be on “vacation,” taking a small break to spend time with a dear friend.

Instead, this gentle soul found us.

When we checked her, her paws were raw and worn, and her breathing was erratic. We did everything we could to keep her comfortable through the night, and this morning we wrapped her in a towel, jumped on an ATV, and started searching for help.

We are now at Vet #2 on this side of Las Terrenas, trying not only to get her the medical care she desperately needs, but also to find someone who can oversee her recovery and, once she is healthy, help get her spayed. Every rescue we have contacted is full and unable to take her.

We couldn’t leave her like this, so we are trying.

We don’t have the solution yet, but we’re sharing in case someone in Las Terrenas has contacts, resources, or can help point us in the right direction. If you’d like to support her journey in another way, contributions toward her veterinary care and recovery are also greatly appreciated.

There is a phenomenon called the bystander effect—the idea that everyone assumes someone else will help, and because of that, sometimes no one does.

Today, you might be that person.

If you know someone who can help, please reach out. If not, please share. This sweet girl deserves a chance. ❤️🐾

Today we remember.

We remember the men and women who gave everything for something greater than themselves.

May we all remember the sacrifices of this day and honor them not only with words, but by how we live, serve, support one another, and continue the mission forward.

From all of us at CharlieMike.Org, we remember and we thank you. 🇺🇸

Continue the Mission of Life.
