J&E Support Group

J&E Support Group You’re not alone—we mean it. My name is Maddie. I am an adult female living with Schizoaffective Bipolar type, GAD, PTSD and OCD. We can do this together.

A mental health advocacy and peer support nonprofit offering advocacy, public events, free support groups (in-person & virtual) + powerful motivational speaking My mission is to help people like me find peace and recovery while spreading awareness of mental health in the community. In December 2023 I almost lost my life. While relearning everything, such as how to talk, walk, swallow and breathe,

I felt a calling to do something to help others like me. I spent 35 years with no voice but today I choose to shout from the roof tops in the hope of helping others. We can come together and make a difference through education and compassion. If you ever need a listening ear I am here to listen! If you are living with a diagnosis just know, I think you're amazing and you're not alone. Lets change the world together.

Community is healing. ❤️

This week at J&E Support Group’s free mental health group at the men’s unhoused shelter, we spent time building vision boards, sharing hope for the future, strengthening community, and enjoying a cookout together.

Mental health support should be accessible to everyone — especially our unhoused neighbors. Through peer support, connection, and creativity, we are helping reduce isolation and remind people they matter.

We need your help to keep these groups going. Donations of supplies from our wishlist or monetary donations help us provide meals, coping skill activities, hygiene supplies, recovery resources, and support group materials at no cost to participants.

Every donation helps us continue creating safe spaces for healing, recovery, and hope. Thank you for supporting community mental health. ❤️

tgroup had an amazing day at the zoo! 🦒💚

Today was about more than just seeing animals — it was about connection, healing, laughter, and strengthening our community. Outings like these help reduce isolation, improve mental wellness, and remind people they are not alone.

Because of generous supporters, this was a completely FREE event for our community. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make moments like this possible.

Want to help us continue providing free outings, support groups, and mental health supplies? Your support truly changes lives.

A reflection from our behavioral health specialist on our group at the men's unhoused shelter:
❤️Men’s Shelter🤍

Today was such a meaningful experience. 🤍

I had the opportunity to visit the men’s shelter with my partner, J&E Support Group, to have open conversations about mental health, healing, and the importance of support systems. Sometimes all someone needs is to feel heard, understood, and reminded that they matter.

We also spent time making vision boards together creating the space to dream, set goals, and focus on hope for the future. It was inspiring to see everyone express themselves and pour positivity into what’s ahead.

Grateful for moments like these that remind me how powerful community, compassion, and conversation can be. 🫶✨

World schizoaffective and schizophrenia day! Let me tell you, this has not been an easy journey. It has taken me down some very dark paths of hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, flat affect, and many more complicated situations. I am the master of wearing a mask in public because I know society will not always accept the symptoms I am going through. So let me tell you, if you live with us or schizophrenia, you're my hero for overcoming every single obstacle, every single day , you're a warrior you're a survivor and I'm proud of you
