Tuesdays are PAAWS day🐾❣️ We take animals to nursing homes, day programs, schools and various other places, so that people in our community can enjoy the unconditional love that the animals share.

Kopper Top Life Learning Center needs volunteers to assist with leading, sidewalking and assisting with the Excelsior Academy (Durham, NC) Spring event on Saturday, April 25 from 11-3:00.
We will need to be set up, saddled and ready to go by 10:45.

Please let me know if you could assist in making kids happy riding a horse for the first time, or even their 100th time.

Kopper Top Life Learning Center was recognized at the shift-ed Resource Fair in Greensboro.
Great fun and lots of great organizations in Guilford County!

Thank you to all of the organizations who came out to the 2026 Resource Fair last week! shift_ed convened 37 organizations around Guilford County to collectively align resources through community and collaboration. Together, we are boldly accelerating student potential!

UPDATE: Well, Otis does have teeth issues, but that's not what caused his problem today. He has an inner ear infection, possibly a polyp, and is being treated with antibiotics, Prednisone and ear wash.
He does need a dental, but have to treat the inner ear first.
I was quoted a price from the receptionist before going to the vet($475-800.00), for the dental, which is WAY LOWER than what the vet quoted. Like $925-$1000.00 more!
I knew that he needed some teeth extracted earlier when I netted and had him neutered at the shelter, but didn't want to spend the money on a feral cat that I didn't think would stay around.
Well, he is now attached at the hip to me and absolutely Loves doing pet therapy.
I will, of course, have his teeth taken care of, but first taking care of the infection.
The bill today was $270.00, but will need to raise funds for a dental extraction visit.
Please keep Otis in your prayers. He will have to miss pet therapy next week, and I know he will be disappointed.

He's the bravest boy. He was actually purring during his exam.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good veterinarian that will do teeth extraction on a cat in our area?
Emergency situation.
Otis needs help now. Feral cat transitioned to therapy cat.

Kopper Top is looking for volunteers to enable our animals to provide services for the people in our community 🐾
We need volunteers for our HOOVES program (equine assisted therapy) and our PAAWS program (Animal Assisted Therapy).
PAAWS: Take animals to area nursing facilities, day programs and other facilities in our community. Tuesdays
HOOVES: Assisting riders during their therapy sessions at the farm. Leading, sidewalking and caring for the animals. Primarily Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for donations made for the Special Olympics team to be able to participate at the Local PHA Horse show in Colfax and Tryon Equestrian Center in September.
