Why yes Lexington County 4-H, we are going to have an end of year Awards Banquet this year! Most details are on the very busy flyer below, but after many years of not having one, we're going to try our hand at having an awards banquet for the county-wide program. This is being put on by our Lexington County 4-H County Teen Council, and our Horse clubs, Shooting Sports club, Outdoor Explorers, Fishing Club and general membership enrolled in independent projects as well as our 4-H at Camp Barstow folks are all invited to break bread, share some fellowship and celebrate each others accomplishments from the year. 4-H members, parents and club leaders are free to attend. Additional family and friends are more than welcome but we do ask for a $10 donation to the cause. Please register for either your free tickets or your extra tickets so we get a somewhat accurate account for food and beverage. Link below:

Out of an abundance of caution, we are canceling (postponing) the Lexington County 4-H Outdoor Explorers meeting for this Saturday at Harbison State Forrest. We contemplated a weather related lesson for the day, but with the thunder and lightening in the forecast, we decided to cancel. We will hopefully be rescheduling this outing for our October meeting after our organizational meeting in September with the new 4-H program year. Reach out with any questions or concerns 😉

Join the Lexington County 4-H Outdoor Explorers for our May meeting on Saturday, May 30th from 1:00–3:00 PM at beautiful Harbison State Forest! Youth and families are invited to come explore, learn, and connect with nature and friends during an exciting afternoon outdoors. Our special guest speaker and guide will be Robert Carter, Ph.D., Area Forestry and Wildlife Agent from Camden, SC, who will lead the group on a fun and educational hike focused on “Birds and Blooms” and the many plants, animals, and natural wonders we may encounter along the trail.

This event is open to all 4-H members, friends, and families of all ages who enjoy outdoor adventure, wildlife, and hands-on learning. Participants will have the opportunity to make new friends, explore nature, and enjoy a memorable afternoon in the forest. A free Eventbrite ticket is requested (required) for each attendee so organizers can be sure to have enough supplies and materials for everyone participating that day.

Hey Lexington County 4-H candle making day campers! We've got our first adjustment to the camp. Based on the popularity of this event, we have decided to open it up to youth of all 4-H ages, that being 5-18. As this has been set-up as a non-custodial care event, a parent must stay with their camper (plus it's a fun, family event anyway :)

This just in, our second adjustment is in the venue. As the camp numbers have grown, we've outgrown my kitchen space here at the office so we're moving our camp to the Lexington Public Lexington County Library Main Branch at 5440 Augusta Road in Lexington. Hours are the same from 9 until noon.

How about a Save the Date for our 1st annual end-of-year awards banquet! Keep the evening of Sunday, June 28th open and I will have the registration link up in the very near future. The banquet will be a free event for all 4-H members and parents (a small charge will be requested for additional friends and family).
