Bonded By Strength is a Pennsylvania based, 501(c)3 non-profit corporation committed to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of at-risk equines. Operating policies and procedures are determined and continuously modified by a Board of Directors. Competencies of Board members include, but are not limited to: knowledge, skills and abilities in equine husbandry; veterinary medicine; business administration; public affairs and marketing; accounting; physical facilities operation and maintenance. Our mission:
Is to Rescue- Rehabilitate and Re-Home At Risk Equine from the Slaughter/ Auction Pipeline. Bonded By Strength Equine Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected, at-risk equine. We provide shelter, care, medical and rehabilitation services to equines in need, and whenever possible, we place them in loving, safe, permanent homes. Equines that cannot be placed are given permanent sanctuary so that they may live out the remainder of their lives in safety and with dignity. Goals:
BBSER will utilize the resources from donors, sponsors and volunteers to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome as many equines into permanent homes as possible , while maintaining a high level of care for equines in the facility. By publicizing and educating the public, spreading awareness of the the fate of so many at-risk equine, the urgent needs for equines, their options and availability, the organization will attract donors, sponsors and potential adopters for rescued animals. BBSER will educate equine owners and the community on preventive care and ethics regarding equines.

Of all the animals to take me down, I never would have guessed it would be a CAT. 🐈‍⬛🤦‍♀️
First, I want to thank everyone who has sent well wishes, checked in, offered help, stepped up when I needed it, and kept me in your thoughts. I can’t even begin to put into words what this past week has been like or how much all of your kindness has meant to me. ❤️
If you know my story, you may know that my biological mother had Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Because of everything I’ve been through, I tend to question myself whenever I get hurt or feel like I need to see a doctor. I second-guess myself and wonder if I’m overreacting.
So, of course, it took some convincing to get me to go to the doctor, let alone the ER. 😂 To say I let a few choice words fly when I found out I was being admitted would be an understatement. I honestly thought the whole thing was a joke.
Then came the panic attacks. I started worrying about not being able to work, who was going to take care of the horses, and how everything was going to get done while I was stuck in the hospital. Ahhh! 😩🐴
Once I finally wrapped my head around being there, I thought, Okay, let’s get this over with.
HA. WRONG.
Then came the allergic reactions to antibiotics, IVs (THREE in two days because they kept burning my arm), my already terrible veins making everything more difficult (thanks, past trauma 🙄), SIX blood draws in three days, and one thing after another.
ALL. BECAUSE. OF. A. CAT. 🐈
I was grumpy. I tried my best to be kind through it all, and by the last day, I somehow earned the nurses’ Best Patient Award. 😂🏆 So I guess I wasn’t that bad!
But seriously, I am SO glad to be home. I’ve been able to sit down, read everyone’s messages, and really take in all the love and support you’ve shown me. I’m beyond grateful for every single one of you. You have no idea how much it means to know so many people care. ❤️
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to enjoy being home, recovering, and getting back to my life and my horses.
And please, for the love of all things holy…
AVOID CAT BITES. 🚨🐈
Seriously. Don’t brush them off. Cat bites can cause serious infections, so please get medical advice promptly if you’re bitten, especially if the bite breaks the skin.
Never in a million years did I think a CAT would be the thing to land me in the hospital. But here we are. 🤦‍♀️😂❤️

JT and Chip enjoying a little Sunday lovin.
As you know JT was rescued from the last auction by a private owner and we have the pleasure of caring for him while in quarantine.
And it is our pleasure.
He’s silly, JT and his many faces, loves kids and people.
We know his owner is going to fall madly in love with this gentle boy.
It feels good to know we can be there for these horses when they are discarded at Auctions and their futures are so uncertain.
All of that is behind JT and Chip now we look forward to what’s ahead.
