With Hurricane Isaias forecasted to bring significant rain to our area tonight and tomorrow, it's important to remember that water levels and the rate water flows can change quickly.

Follow these 3 Simple Flash Flood Safety Steps:
1. Get to higher ground, Get out of the areas subject to flooding.
2. Do NOT drive or walk into flooded areas. It only takes 6” of water to knock you off your feet.
3. Stay informed. Monitor local television and radio, weather radio, and social media (US National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC or NC Emergency Management) for updates.

Hurricane Isaias – Preparedness Update

With Hurricane Isaias approaching, we want everyone to be prepared for the possibility of power outages and flooding.

Attached is the latest update as of 5:30 p.m. on October 9, 2026.

We are expecting flooding in low-lying areas. Please remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown! Never attempt to drive through flooded roads.

We are also anticipating numerous downed trees and power outages. Please do not call 911 to report downed trees or power outages unless there is an immediate emergency. Instead, contact your local fire station or the non-emergency line for Caldwell County Dispatch to report these issues.

Please make sure you are prepared with plenty of clean drinking water, non-perishable food, and other essential supplies.

Everyone, please take the necessary precautions, stay informed, and look out for one another. Most importantly, stay safe during the storm!

We want to say thanks to Collettsville school for letting us do fire prevention again this year.

Collettsville Fire Rescue is proud to recognize Chief Trevor Key for earning the prestigious Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Chief EMS Officer (CEMSO) designations from the Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC).

The CFO and CEMSO programs are voluntary and recognize fire and EMS leaders who demonstrate excellence across several key areas, including experience, professional development, leadership, community involvement, and technical expertise. Candidates also complete a comprehensive peer-review process and create a forward-looking professional development plan.

These designations are awarded only to those who meet high standards and show a strong, ongoing commitment to excellence in fire and emergency services.

Earning both the CFO and CEMSO designations is no small feat, Chief Key is one of only 135 professionals worldwide to hold Dual CFO & CEMSO designations. This reflects Chief Key’s dedication to continuous learning, professional growth, and his service to the Caldwell County community and beyond.

Please join us in congratulating Chief Trevor Key on this outstanding accomplishment!
