FIRST Robotics Team 1359 The Scalawags are a FIRST Robotics Team looking to recruit any and all Scoring the most points is a secondary goal.

The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week time frame using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and enter them in competitions designed by Dean Kamen, Dr. Woodie Flowers, and a committee of engineers and other professionals. FIRST redefines winning for these students be

cause they are rewarded for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism and maturity, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Winning means building partnerships that last a lifetime. The FIRST program has over 16 million dollars in college scholarships available only to FIRST participants.

We're building cotton ball launchers in the shop this Saturday. 9:30 to 11 am for grades 4 through 8.

The Scalawags are going to be running the 50/50 raffle at the Willamette Speedway! We are an independent 501c3 charity that prides itself on getting involved in the community. Things like fundraisers and donations help to keep our lights on for events such as our summer STEAM camp, which we host in our robotics shop. On that note, more information involving the summer STEAM camp will be coming out soon, so keep watching for it!
