Congratulations and continued success at Boys State.
Congratulations to four Le Roy students who are headed to the American Legion New York Boys’ State, a Patriotism and Leadership Conference
Press release
The Le Roy unit of the American Legion is sponsoring four Le Roy students to attend Boys' State. Michael Fortuna, Nathan Pangrazio, Liam Ortiz, and Jeremiah Sheehan will attend.
American Legion Boys’ State is a week-long program that immerses high school youth (currently completing their junior year) in citizenship and leadership training. They learn the practical aspects of government as it exists in New York State and come to recognize that the individual is integral to the character and success of government. They also participate in physical fitness, teamwork, and other activities under the guidance of American Legion counselors and U.S. Marines.
Boys’ State takes place at SUNY Morrisville. In 2026, it runs from Saturday, June 27 to Thursday, July 2.
This year’s boys will all be rising seniors when they attend
and interviewed to be chosen for their spots.
Fortuna participates in DECA and Mock Trial, Pangrazio is class president and an NHS officer, Ortiz is active in sports and in pursuit of multiple certifications from BOCES, and Sheehan is active
in NHS, sports, and volunteer work.
