LAS Chief Danser and Deputy Chief Yoder are attending an EMS leadership course today focused on state and regional EMS systems, regulations, and emerging issues. Ongoing education helps ensure our agency remains current with industry changes and allows us to better serve our community while contributing to the future of EMS at the local, regional, and state levels.

Our crew headed out to the high school yesterday along with our friends from LeRoy Fire Department - LeRoy, NY , Stafford Fire Department, Inc, LeRoy Police Department - NY and Mercy Flight to talk to the students about the risks of driving under the influence prior to their prom this weekend. These demonstrations are super important to help educate the students on the severity of driving will intoxicated and the unfortunate consequences and outcomes that could result from this action. Thank you to LeRoy High School for letting us come out and talk to the kids about this. We hope everyone has a fun and safe prom this weekend!

Mark your calendars! We will be hosting a Lay Person CPR Class on June 25th at 6pm over at our base. This class will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC to sign up, no EMS or healthcare background necessary! At the conclusion of this class, participants will receive a CPR certification card and be equipped with the confidence and skills to hop into action to help those in need. This morning EMT Hill made her annual trip over to Medina Hospital for an ambulance tour with the Allied Health BOCES class. She was a student in this program herself and is now halfway through nursing school!

EMT Hill spent the morning sharing all about EMS and the ambulance with the students. We’re grateful for the opportunity to speak with aspiring healthcare providers about the field and importance of Emergency Medical Services!

EMS Week is underway here at Le Roy Ambulance! This morning’s crew stocked up the fridge at base for our employees to have fresh meals all week. This is just a small token of appreciation for our crews that doesn’t even scratch the surface with all they do.

We also welcome our newest EMT Johnathan Collichio to the team! Name a better week to start than EMS Week!
